Question about Televison & Video
Had a poor quality picture for a few days, thought maybe needed to clean lens. Didn't do anything. Then the picture froze, but had sound. turned the tv off, waited a while and turned it back on. Got funky color with the picture split up into 4 quadrants randomly and it froze again, but still had sound the whole time. Turned it off and unplugged it for longer. Got a line up the middle, then random picture here and there, magenta then blue, then nothing but black screen with sound. Tried it again hours later after reading a few things to see if lamp comes on and it seems to be, but still black screen and no picture with sound. No lights blinking on power button either. Color wheel? DMD? Any ideas?
It sounds that the light engine has the fault. Contact the authorizes service center for Samsung.

SOURCE: Samsung HLS4266W 43" dlp
Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

That sounds most like the color wheel,
to change that you need to have some skill in electronics, I would recommend to take it to a shop
