SOURCE: none of my usb ports

There's a big possibility that the driver for your USB and audio device is not installed properly, it will be better if you can run again the setup CD for your motherboard so all software will be reloaded again for it like the driver for your USB and audio device...

SOURCE: can not start my computer

Plug the unit directly to the ac outlet if it is plug into a surge protector. See if it boots. Did you shut it down yesterday or was it left running? Any bad weather last night? You could try another computer memory and see it is the memory. Not sure what it could be at this point. What type of system is it?
It could possibly be a bad power supply.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: At the front of computer, the 2 usb are not working

By the way that kind of port is an optional to function, because it is not an onboard port not like the port at the back. The front port is disabled if the connector inside is not connected. If you want this port functioning you need to open your CPU casing and locate the ping which is the connector to be connected.

How do I get P2210 monitor to work with USB with Dell Inspiron 15R that doesn't have a VGA port

The Inspiron 15R should have an HDMI port. You should be able to connect the HDMI to the DVI-D port on the P2210 with a cable like this: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10231&cs_id=1023104&p_id=2661&seq=1&format=2 . Alternatively, you can get an HDMI to Display Port adapter. Connect either cable with the notebook and monitor both off. Then turn on the monitor before turning on the computer. Pressing F1 should send the signal to the monitor. However, if you right click on the desktop (anywhere there isn't a program or icon), you should see some links for DIsplay options. You can use those to select the monitor resolution and whether to use both screens (extended or mirrored) or one at a time.

The most expensive option would be a USB to video adapter, see http://www.startech.com/AV/USB-Video-Adapters/ , or docking station. These come with VGA or other video output ports depending on the model. The USB ports on the monitor are just an integrated hub to plug in an external devices. It doesn't communicate to the display.

I hope this helps.

(The DVI to HDMI cable doesn't supply audio but that doesn't matter in this case. However, you may need to go into the Manage Audio devices control panel and disable sound on the HDMI port. Open the Control Panel (Windows + X in Windows 8 or from the Start Menu with Windows 7). Go to Hardware and Sound and then look for Manage Audio Devices under Sound. In the playback tab, adjust the default audio device by right-clicking on the appropriate device. Then click Apply.)

In order for the usb ports to work you must have 1 usb from the computer connected to the monitor. The monitor may have a specific input port from the pc in order to activate the other ports on the monitor

My usb port on monitor isn't working. how can i fix this?

Hi,
The USB ports on the monitor will work only if you connect the monitor via a USB cable to your PC/Laptop's USB port. Sounds awkward. Doesn't it? There must be a USB cable with flat socket on one end and trapezium shape jack on one end. It should be in the box which the monitor came in. The USB ports in the monitor are just another extended USB ports for your PC/Laptop. If you can't find the cable mentioned above, it is the same cable you connect to a printer, scanner,........ In some cases you might need to install a driver which should also come along with monitor. Mostly you don't need to install.
Good luck.

My Dell Inspiron does not boot up only the solid amber light on the Motherboard on I try everything and still nothing works please help

Not so sure about this but I hope this will help.
-try to disconnect all the cables from the back (monitor, keyboard, mouse, usb's, power cable, etc.)
-then disconnect all the card (video card, sound card, NIC) if all are integrated then you dont have to.
-connect just the power cable
-try to turn on the computer and check if it beeps
-if it does not beeps need to replace the motherboard but before you do this check if the fan will spin even for a single second if does not spin then you also need to replace the power supply as well
-if it beeps then turn it off again.
-connect the video card and connect the cable of the monitor, keyboard and mouse
-turn on the computer then check if theres any display
-if theres no display check for any beep indication. and right it down on a piece of paper on how many times it beeps and if its long beep or short beep.
kindly provide an email if this things does not work so that I can give you a resolution.

System boots up but no image on monitor i have checked the monitor it works fine both fans are working no beeps no image what could the problem be

sounds like your power supply is toast, or your video card is improperly seated in its slot. or maybe its simpler than that , how many video ports are on the back, check your monitor cable to the computer, try other VGA ports if they exist. ( need to boot it after the connection is made)

When turned on all i get is fans constantly running and nothing else was working fine up till then

Sometimes the best answers are the simplest. First, make sure the video monitor is switched ON, securely connected to the computer video port and the "brightness" control set to at least mid-point. Before focusing suspicion on the computer itself, try a different "known to be working" monitor AND CABLE. Failing all the above you should carefully observe a manual re-start of the computer noting the presence or absence of 1.) pilot or drive indicator lights on or flashing, 2.) A beep tone or series of beeps emanating from the computer ( one beep is good - more than one is an indication of trouble requiring a technician ). 3.) Fan(s) running. If you have lights, fans, and a beep but no video, ( not even a blinking cursor in the upper left of the screen ), replace the video or graphics card in the P.C. with one known to be working. This should solve the problem.

With the limited info that you provided, it seems like the motherboard is not functioning. When you turn the computer on, does anything happen in the box?

No power to USB ports, no video output

Make sure you have connected the USB's on right spot on the motherboard.

It's few places where it fits, so just try it out.

Acer Veriton M460 Quad won't start after running Vista Scheduler I have a new Acer Veriton M460 Core2 Quad PC running Vista Business. Something weird is happening that seem to be related to the Vista Task Scheduler. I have a complex chain of actions that start from one action. The chain is: run software to download .html files, run Microsoft software, run DOS batch files and DOS executables. It works fine if I start it from the desktop and if I start it using Task Scheduler. However, if I used Task Scheduler, the next time I boot up the PC it freezes at the Acer pre-Windows boot screen. Even the set up keys mentioned on that screen don't work, e.g. "press F12 to choose a start up mode". I have to pull out the power plug. When I plug the power back in, even after quite some time, the PC proceeds with the boot up successfully through to Windows without me having pressed the Power On button on the computer. So the bottom line is that if I use the Scheduler, my PC won't start the next time I go to use it. There was an event that may have some relevance or could be coincidence: about a week ago after I first scheduled the task I came back to my PC, which had run my scheduled task unattended after waking itself from Sleep Mode. I found it showing not Windows but the PC boot options menu. I pressed the highlighted option, which I think was Normal. This hasn't happened since but could be related. Incidentally, my PC was supplied with Sleep Mode set to start after 20 minutes plus there is a screen saver. But neither was going when I last used the scheduler for my task. Any ideas?
