SOURCE: cannot remove pto clutch assy

You can use an impact wrench, but more than likely the bolt is unscrewed and you will need to get a set of pulley pullers to pull the clutch.

What are the two wires on the PTO for?

John, the wires put power to the PTO to energize clutch and make it engage when switched on. I will post a video link of simple fix for wire that have been ripped out.

Pto won't disengage, unable to start tractor. pto attached to post hole digger in ground

It could be gear bound and not allowing it to disengage, i experienced that a few times in my farming days, we dug a lot of postholes with a PTO driven digger. What usually happened is i ended up getting caught on rocks and stalled out because i had the engine speed to low. What i generally had to do to fix it was remove the PTO shaft from the digger, disconnect from the tractors output shaft, then get it started and everything moving, then disengage the PTO and reconnect the post hole digger, then give her hell and get the engine speed up before re-engaging the PTO, that would generally shock it loose. If not then i would have to disconnect the PTO shaft again and spin it backwards by hand to rotate the digger in the opposite direction to remove the hangup.

The spring into the hole on the clutch housing and other end goes somewhere on the frame. It is being used as a damper spring.

The below should be correct.

How do you remove the center bolt on the pto clutch

The easiest way to remove one is an impact wrench; otherwise, you would block the flywheel of the engine so it won't turn and use a pull bar.
You will need block the flywheel upon installing as you will need to torque the center bolt to about 55 ft lbs and don't forget to burnish in the PTO clutch.

How to change out an electric clutch on a cub cadet zero turn RZT50?

Removal is simple if you have access to an impact wrench so you can the center retaining bolt.

When re-installing anti-seize compound needs to used on the crankshaft so the new clutch assembly doesn't seize on the shaft. To tighten the center bolt you must hold the flywheel in place by blocking it. This center bolt must be torqued to 45-55 ft fts. Also the new pto clutch needs burnishing in. Most new clutches come with instruction on this procedure.

There is one bolt in center of pto clutch. Its best to have an impact to remove this. If you try to remove with a wrench engine will spin. Remove both belts first. Then simply unplug the PTO, Use impact wrench and remove center bolt and gently pry off. Installation is the reverse order.
