Question about Heating & Cooling

Kross GY2002 WF light air conditioner. Why is the W.F. light flashing and the machine will not turn on?

On my portable air conditioner, the W.F. light is flashing and the machine will not turn on. I tried resetting the breaker on the plug. no results I took out the 4 filters, cleaned them and reinserted them. reset, no change. loosened the cover to peek inside. There was no dust, so I put it back together. No change. Can I see an owner's manual? I think the W. F. means " wash filter" but I'm not sure.

That's "Water Full" -- there's a drain plug in the back of the unit.

Check for power at the plug in, if it's got power take it back under warranty.

SOURCE: AIR CONDITIONER MODEL #AF-S85FX--CODE E1

The Sharp e1 problem is a timer that is pretending to demand that you clean the filter. It stops the machine every 720 hours and forces you to do a procedure to get it to go away.

There are 2 possible procedures.

1) Unplug the machine. Hold down the power button while you plug the machine in and wait for a beep about 5 seconds long. Let go of the power button. Unplug the machine. Plug it back in.

2) Unplug the machine. Hold down the mode button while plugging the machine back in and waiting for a beep of about 3 seconds duration. Let go of the mode button. The machine will start. Turn the machine off by pressing the power button. Resume trying to use the machine normally.

If these don't work, the "demand to clean filter" timer is broken and you will need to buy parts to repair the machine.

(Don't you just love having a computer chip in every appliance?)

SOURCE: Air conditioner turns on then shuts itself off immediately

There's something wrong with your aircon. Usually the lights will start to blink. Depending on the brand and model, the number of times it blinks will give you an error code which tells you what's spoilt. You may like to check this out http://www.astiquer.com/blinking.html

My danby portable air conditioner won't turn on

New or used? Is is plugged in? Is there electric at the plug? Plug a light in there and make sure it works as a test. Next, check the water pan to make sure it is not full of water. There is a switch there that could be causing the problem.

My Sunpentown WA-1220E portable air conditioner is not working. Comp light is flashing (red light). Any idea what could be wrong?

Sounds like compressor failure, overheat or some other reason can't get started. Make sure everything is clear and unplug and let it set for a while and try again. If that don't help take it to shop.
