I recently acquired a Fujifilm FinePix F460. I purchased a new battery, charged the battery with an external charger, and installed it in the camera. When I press the "power" button, the green status light turns on but the LCD screen does nothing--it does not light up at all. When connected to my computer via the USB cable, there is no response. The green light remains on for a couple minutes, then shuts off. Why does the camera not power up fully?

i recently bought a new battery for my new FujiFilm F460 camera , i tryed charging in but it doesnt seem to be charging and everytime i try to turn it on the greenlight turns on and stay like dat for a few minutes then nothing the screen doesnt turn on what should i do?

Mainboard component failure at a guess or the new battery is not up to scratch- try taking the battery back for a new one as it is a recent purchase.
If you can do that and still in trouble contact Fiji for a reapair estimate.
