SOURCE: connecting speakers.

The speakers cannot be connected directly to the audio outputs. These outputs are for use with an external amplifier. Connecting speakers directly to these audio outputs can cause damage to the set. Thanks

SOURCE: vertical lines on sony kdl-46v3000 bravia lcd tv

i have the same problem, apparently the LCD panel needs to be replaced and this will cost more than the tv is worth... Advice is to not buy a sony again, because this is a common problem and they wont extend the warranty, even if its 2 weeks after it runs out...

Where is the conection to plug my playbar in.

If this is the Sonos Playbar then where the "SONOS" logo is next to the mains socket there is 2 connections, 1 is the ethernet connection to your router and the 2nd is the optical digital connection from the TV!

Probably its not a problem. On the menu You should have a Headphone audio level control (when needed you can mute the set speakers and still have headphone audio).

Can't find where to plug my headphones to the Bravia tv

If you look closely in the area where your audio outputs are (red and white holes) you will see a headphone jack a 3.5mm minijack hole.

Just mute the TV and you will get sound out of your headphones. You may have to turn the TV sound up though.

Can't play audio CDs without having the TV on

Your description is not entirely clear, so I have to guess a little here, but I think what is happening is as follows:

1) You are using your DVD player as the source for the CD.
2) Your DVD is connected directly to the TV and the TV then connected to your receiver.

If the above are correct, then the problem is that the TV only has what is called an ACTIVE passthru for Audio signals. This means that the signal is process by the TV and tehn sent to the audio output jacks. With the TV off, the buffer ICs are not functioning, thus no output. Some older sets have what is called PASSIVE passthru.

I don't know your specific DVD model specs, so check to see if you have 2 audio outputs from the DVD (many do) and connect the other audio out directly to the receiver. That will resolve your problem.
