SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 5720

F-8 is the key, Try to "cold start" the computer, meaning remove the power plug from wall outlet or uplug from computer, remove battery, now replace battery and plug computer into wall outlet. Push the on button while "TAPPING" the F-8 key repeatedly Tap, tap, tap, until you hear a beep or it load the black menu with safe mode options. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK: shut down the laptop, remove AC supply, remove battery. Plug the AC power back in,DO NOT INSTALL BATTERY, Start the machine, without battery installed, and tap F-8 repeatedly. If it still fails, PULL THE PLUG OUT OF THE WALL OUTLET WHILE THE COMPUTER IS STILL RUNNING. NOW PLUG THE LAPTOP BACK INTO THE WALL AND START, THAT SHOULD TAKE YOU TO A BLACK PAGE WITH WHITE SCRIPT WITH OPTIONS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

Dell inspiron screen static freeze up

I have had the same issue with my Inspiron 5720. I got the first one at the end of December 2012 and with slight movement the display would go out into these static lines. You need to turn it off and restart to get it back. They have come out and replaced the LCD and cables, same issue. They returned and replaced the motherboard, same issue. They then replaced it with another 5720, same issue. They just replaced the motherboard on the new one, same issue. I am now fighting with them to have a different model sent to me. This is now a known issue with many reports of it on the Dell forum and they keep denying it. They have discontinued production of the 5720 also. Please feel free to contact me at kellyedwyer@verizon.net and I will gladly share all of the sites I have found with reports of the same issue. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau and am tempted to begin going further since I cannot do my work because this laptop keeps shutting down. Good luck.

Volume is all the up but the sound is very low..

Hi, This sounds like a driver issue. The easiest way to fix this is go to dell.com. Once the go to support or drivers and downloads. You will be asked to type in your service tag. This will take you to the drivers used on laptop. If you dont have the tag number you can enter the laptop name, model etc and it will take you to the drivers page.
Find the driver under "AUDIO" download it, open it, click on setup or install then follow the instructions. This should take care of the volume issue.

I have a dell laptop - inspiron 1564. i am getting noise through the speakers from the onboard microphone. How can i turn it off with out muting.

open the audio properties box by right clicking on your volume control and selecting the properties choice
where it lists all the devices, turn the volume level for the microphone all the way down. if that still does not cure the problem, then mute just the microphone by itself, that way the rest of your audio still works.

I have a inspiron 6000 and i cant here anything

To start go to control panel>>audio, open the audio settings and check if volume is at minimum or audio is muted.

If it is not muted, or you cannot turn up the volume, then try reinstalling the driver software for the audio on your computer.

You can download audio drivers from the link below:
