SM-9-901 Generator Steam Shower

We have this steam shower installed recently. And the steam output is very poor. It gets hot but not real steamy. What could be wrong?

There are three things that affect this:
1. Incoming water temp.
2. Incoming water volume.
3.Temp of the device.
There are some other minute things like humitidty and altitude too.

Probably should not use the generator in the shower. Moisture from the steam may be causing the problem.

Not enough steam

This may either be because you may not have the correct generator(either the wrong size model or the wrong voltage generator) or the heating element may be damaged, although this would be unlikely being it is a new generator. Go to www.mrsteam.com and size your room. Remember it is important to have the exact room dimensions AS WELL as material of the wall (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone etc) due to the fact that wall material is largely where you have all your heat loss and units have to be sized accordingly to the wall material of your shower otherwise you would surely end up with the wrong size.

Error code Prr on Mr. Steam control unit. Steam generator starts for about 10 seconds, but no steam comes out and error code "Prr" shows on control unit. Any insights?

I had this problem, and checked the connections, emptied the resivour, and refilled it, and it had no effect.
To fix the problem, I ran the regular shower on hot for 10 minutes to warm up the shower chamber. Then, when I pressed the power button on the steam shower, it displayed "110" as normal.
The problem with "Prr" appears to be that the temp sensor is reporting a value out of range. Heating the shower chamber (and therefore sensor) provides a good value to the sensor, which then allows the shower to operate.
Try warming up your sensor by running the shower.

What I recommend to you is to contact a supplier that handles these units. They might be able to contact the vendor for the product to try and get more info for you. To be honest, I think your electrician is being a little unreasonable. I would consider finding another electrician. I realize he doesn't want to miswire something and then have to replace it but it would take a complete knuckle head to mess up the wiring on a motor. My opinion though!

Steam unit should be one ( Maybe two) downspout outlets knee heighth or LOWER. Is it possible you have a body spray system also. Has the shower been used yet?? The outlets that are higher are probably for the body spray system.

Please rate this response and Good Luck, Phil
