Logitech webcam and yahoo messenger

I am having a horrible time trying to get my Logitech Quickcam Express webcam to work with yahoo messenger. I have called two computer technical helplines and so far, they could not help me. My webcam is made to be used with yahoo messenger and it is made to be used with my operating system on my computer. My operating system is windows xp. I have tried several different times to delete the software for the camera and then reinstall the software for the camera. I have also restarted my computer several different times. I have downloaded the latest version of yahoo messenger. I have tried any and everything suggested thus far. Nothing seems to work. I have no idea what is wrong and why my camera won't work through yahoo messenger. My webcam is working. I can see my picture on my own computer screen, but I just can't get it to let others view me too. I would REALLY appreciate anyone's help with this matter. I just have no idea what else to try to make this thing work. My email address is [email protected] Thank you so much in advance for any and all help. Sincerely, Larry

I feel your Pain guy, I cannot find anyone out there that can tell me how to fix it. As soon as I click Cam in YM it shuts down completely, both the Cam and YM. Frustrating to say the least

I was having this same problem..the only way I knew to fix it..shut down your window for the cam when it pops up..you shouldn't be seeing two windows of yourself. I thought was supposed to. So just click View my Webcam or use the Webcam button on YM...then shut the one that comes up when you turn your cam on.
Hope this helps.

Camera dont work on Yahoo Messenger

Please make sure that your web cam is not been in use by any other messenger or its in use.

If the web cam is open or being used by any other messenger then it will not work on other platform.

Since few days there is some issue with yahoo messenger's audio and video.

Yahoo messenger - Webcam is not connected

You cannot access camera source until the webcam is running in Messenger - try setting it up from scratch
1) The webcam is working outside of Messenger
2) Reboot webcam by unplugging the USB connection and inserting it again - its important if its been used elsewhere and prior to chat.

To find out what the requirements are for messenger webcams, check out the following.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger9/webcam/mstacamreq.html
Once you have your webcam working outside of Yahoo Messenger you have to configure it to messenger CONNECTION
Open messenger - on top toolbar > messenger > preferences > connection - select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the 2 lower boxes > apply > ok TESTING
> messenger > my webcam - warning panel will come on click 'ok' and your webcam will launch. DEFAULT
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK PERMISSION OPTIONS
>messenger > preferences > webcam - make your selections about who you will allow to view you
IN USE Your contacts may need to configure their connection the same as above or they may also get a "webcam not connected" message

Logitech quick cam messenger

Hey guys,

Every review/spec I have read on this cam so far indicates that there is no built in microphone on the Quickcam Express. Here is one of those sites...

http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Logitech-Quickcam-Express-640x480-USB-W98-Logitech

If you still have your box that the camera came in, it should tell you for certain if there is a microphone in the product description on the back or side of the box.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you, and good luck.
