Reset printer

On your printer, go to the settings menu -> factory defaults.

Do not restore - this is the factory default setting. Do not restore keeps the user defined settings.

Restore - returns all printer settings to the factory default settings except the Network/Ports menu settings. All downloads stored in RAM are deleted.

I need to remove the drum to clean it.

  1. 1 clean-printer-drum-1.1-120x120.jpg Open the printer and remove the toner cartridge.
  2. 2 clean-printer-drum-1.2-120x120.jpg Inspect the drum for obvious damage. If it's damaged, don't try to clean it; replace it.
  3. 3 clean-printer-drum-1.3-120x120.jpg Remove any large spots of toner on the drum with tweezers or pliers. Be careful not to scratch the surface.
  4. 4 clean-printer-drum-1.4-120x120.jpg Dip a cotton swab in a rubbing alcohol. Gently swipe any visible soil.
  5. 5 clean-printer-drum-1.5-120x120.jpg Put a couple of drops of alcohol on a soft, lint-free cloth if the entire drum looks dirty. Carefully wipe the drum.
  6. 6 Check the other parts for dirt while you have the cartridge out. Carefully clean them.
  7. 7 Reinstall the cartridge and print a couple of test pages. If the problem persists, you probably need a new drum.

Trying to clear the memory of a Xerox Faxcentre F116. Do you know the steps to accomplish this?

One needs to know what they are doing when resetting memory to the machine.
When resetting the machine, one needs to consider, the loss of memory data on the copy cartridge counter in the machine.
When resetting memory a copy toner cartridge needs to be in stock with a counter reset card.
Erasing memory will wipe out the old copy/toner cartridge odometer setting, resuling in "Replace toner/cartridge" error.
Please clarify which memory area is being erased.

Cleaned the drum by running the slider on Brother IntelliFax 2800

Clean the corona wire, reclean the drum, check the toner cartridge. The cartridge may not be positioned properly, causing extra toner to be displaced.
