Question about Minka Aire Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

How can a flush mount fan be leveled if the ceiling is at an angle?

My ceiling is at an angle. There is no room for adjustment in your fan installation. Do you make a kit to level it? If not do I have to install the mounting bracket by dropping one side about 1/2" off the electrical bow?

Flush mount fans are made for Flat ceilings. They are also a waste of money! You won't get any airflow,

The red and white should be hot all the time for the fan to run even when the light is not in use. The black and white wires are used for the switch on the wall to turn the light on. Hope this helps.

a celing fan should only be mounted on a box rated for a ceiling fan. This is a NEC code requirement. You could remove your existing box, and install a new box rated for a ceiling fan. You install the adjustable cross bar, and then attach the box to it. It also has stronger threaded inserts for the fan attaching bolts. Better than having a fan flying through the room.

Similar problem: Does Hampton Bay Vaulted Ceiling Mount exist?

Ok so here is the deal. No there does not seem to be a Hampton Bay specific mount. The mount that comes standard in most of the Hampton Bay fans can handle the angle of most standard (read: small) angles. I do not know if it will be the case with all Hunter products, but the adapter for the Hunter fan that I replaced, worked with my new Hampton Bay. So now, I have from the downrod up is from the original Hunter fan. Hope this helps.

Have a habor breeze ceiling fan need a bracket kit for a ceiling that is more than a 45 degree angle

This is going to be a very difficult bracket to find. However, there is another option available, if you don't mind having a small mounting box at the ceiling electrical box.

Arlington Industries makes a nice ceiling fan universal mounting box that can be used in place of having an extreme angle on the downrod. The other benefit of this method is that the fan isn't prone to wobbling and is more secure.

This might require you to cut the drywall away from the joist to install it correctly, but it will work for almost any ceiling angle around.

They also have some other types, so you can check them out.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

I want to hang the fan on a cathedral ceiling with a steep slope. Two questions, is the angle of the slope measured from vertical or horizontal, and does anyone make a kit for my fan to hang because the the...

The slope is measured off the horizontal plane. A 45 degree slope would rise 12 inches for every 12 inches of horizontal travel in this example. If the slope is too great try checking kits made by Fanimation. The Fanimation SCK52 - 52 Degree Ceiling Slope Ceiling Fan Kit will go up to a 52 degree angle ceiling and will fit most downrods. The hampton bay fans are very popular and should work just fine with this kit.

I suppose you can mount it as close to the ceiling as you want as long as the blades do not hit the ceiling. It being that close will not allow the air to flow as well if it was 6 to 12 inches lower.
