Question about Computers & Internet
I don't think we realised it was a back up not a storage device because we copied all our pictures onto it and deleted them from the computer (and recycling bin) before we did that we double checked they were on and working then we checked again once we deleted them and a couple of weeks later I checked them just to see and they were all there working. Suddenly all out pictures are folders are empty even though it shows at the pictures are inside on the icons. Is there any way we can get them back?
The best way to retrieve data (images videos document) once it has been deleted is to use a data recovery software.
There are many different types of data recovery software and they all require being purchased.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goto safemode run virus scanner this should get rid of viruses since viruses have nothing to attach too
if you have vista safemode is tricky to get too somtimes it works sometimes it doesnt
also in safemode you can back up your files with out viruses
recommendation get a big external hard drive and start storing files you want to keep to that so when a virus hits you just un plug and go straight for a virus kill

You can try and restore your system to earlier state by using system restore.
To to this, click on Start, then All programs, then Accessories. Then select System Tools and then System Restore. When System Restore opens, Click on Restore my System to earlier Date, and click Next. Then from the Calendar select the Date you want to Restore your system to.
For more help and clarifications , please reply to this post. Hope this solves your problem Thanks.

The problem is simple: the hyperlinks are pointing to documents on your "original" computer, rather than pointing to documents on your portable disk-drive, or to documents on the USB memory-stick.
So, on another computer, the hyperlink still is pointing to a file (on your computer) that no longer is accessible. Thus, only a "blank" page is being displayed.
Fix the hyperlink(s), and everything will be fine.

Testimonial: "Thanks Ikkenom. At the time, I lost track with what I was doing. But now I know that to correct the problem I had to change all the hyperlinks in the drive to connect to all other documents in the drive instead of the documents in the C: drive of my computer. I just didn't realize that."
You do not need to un-install any thing. Just run the set up for Office xp once more. It will ask you fro complete new setup, repair or to un-install office xp from your machine. Please select repair(as said by you, or just select the option you want to) to restore all the missing links for your office xp.
DO reply back if you need more help on this and also if this solution was of any help to you.
Have nice day then.

Right Click anywhere on your desktop and choose New>Shortcut
Type in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE
Click on Next, and Finish. You have now created a shortcut to Word. You can drag this to the quick Launch bar next to the Start Menu if you want - It will not delete it but create a new shortcut there
Hope that helps, pls rate the solution
