Question about Dryers

Open Question

Cinni fan Hi, the swinging mechanism of my Cinni is malfunctioning. When it rotates to the right side, it stays there and refuses to rotate back to the left. Is this something that is easy to repair? Thank you in advance. Chris

SOURCE: LCD Display

The flexible LCD film connecting strip is defective. I think this is fused to the LCD and you need to replace the whole unit.

SOURCE: ceiling fan some time not rotating

First note that there are often two switches: one on the wall of the room with the fan and one on the fan itself. If that doesn't solve the problem, there may be an electrical problem and the fan may need service (it could even need lubrication if it is stuck from a long period of non-use). Also note that electrical problems can cause fires, so it may be necessary to get the fan fixed by a competent service person. Hampton Bay is a pretty good brand but nothing lasts forever and most of us tend to use fans for months and months without servicing them.

SOURCE: sqeaky fan rotation

Try oiling the pull bearings. If you can determine that the noise is in the motor, try nelsonappliance.com. They have replacement motors for your fan for less than $20.

Why doesn't my fan rotate anymore?

definitely sounds mechanical. try prying open the motor area and see if anything happens when you turn it on. i'm guessing it might be a short somewhere that's making the other parts have to compensate

also check into servos, relays, and whatnot

Broken cinni pedestal fan

rattling fans are an indication of unbalanced fan blades. check for dirt or corrosion on blades Remove the blades and see if the motor still vibrates. If so scrap the unit. You may be able to get new blades but as few places carry fan spares I would hold out hope in that department. Check around the appliance repair shops and see what info you can dig up . May be a contact to the manufacturer on the web will give some answers as to spares

Information needed: Celsius WF-604 Air Cooler - Their are 2 Push Button Switches on the cooler the: The Cool Push Button Switch and the Swing Push Button Switch. This creates a total of 4 sets of...

The on/off COOL switch controls the moving pad (on rollers), when ON the pad rollers rotate and pull the pads around in a circle. Pad picks up water at the bottom and evaporates water at it rises, thus it is an evaporation cooler.

The on/off SWING switch controls the oscillating louvers which can be stationary or moving left and right. It directs the air flow from straight ahead to the sides.

Either can be on or off.

The Speed controls switch, which you did not mention, determines how fast the fan blades will spin.

Inspection

Inspect for the correct routing of the spark plug wires. Improper routing may cause cross-firing. Inspect each wire for any signs of cranks or splits in the wire. Inspect each plug wire boot for tearing, piercing, arcing, carbon tracking or a corroded terminal.

I have not worn my SEIKO kinetic wrist watch for a

Here is the information from the website. The link to the manual is provided below. HOW TO CHARGE AND START THE WATCH Swing the watch from side to side approximately 50 times. * Before swinging the watch, check and remember where the minute hand is so that you can tell if the start-up indicator has worked or not. First, check that the crown is at the normal position. * If the crown is pulled out and the watch is swung, the start-up indicator will not work even if the watch starts operating. * Swing rhythmically at a rate of twice a second. * No additional benefit is obtained by swinging the watch more quickly or with greater vigor. * When the watch is swung, the oscillating weight in the generating system rotates to drive the mechanism. As it rotates, it gives out a sound, which is not a malfunction. 1 2 The minute hand moves quickly and stops as the watch starts operating. (Start-up indicator) Then, it will move at 20-second intervals. 3 After checking that the minute hand has done this, pull out the crown to set the time. 4 After pushing back the crown in to the normal position, swing the watch further approximately 350 times to reserve one day of power, and then, put the watch on your wrist. http://www.seikowatches.com/support/ib/pdf/1m20_e.pdf Good luck, Techjoel

My tall Cinni standard fan isn't working. When you switch it on you can hear the motor trying, but the fan blades don't move at all. It's boiling today in my office, so we'd like to know what might be up...

Stage 1: unscrew 2No. top and bottom nut/bolt put to one side, lift 4No. hinge clips and remove front cage.
Stage 2: partially unscrew spindle screw on fan body then slide fan off spindle.
Stage 3: plug in fan turn to setting '1' (lowest setting, the motor will hum but not rotate) now with a hammer 'carefully' tap the spindle so that it is aligned within the housing, it may need to lo left, right, up, down whatever direction it needs to sit centrally withing the bushes of the front and rear housings. Then tap the end of the spindle which sometimes re-engages/realigns the spindle within the rear bush.
Stage 4: reverse of stage 2 & 1
Good luck
