Question about Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera
The view finder is blank. It shows menu when menu button is pressed and things like that but will not show an image in viewer nor take a picture.
Sounds like a defective CCD imager. You may be in luck. Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. Please check the following two links for more info:

Common fault with these models and is caused by faulty CCD sensor. Canon will probably repair free of charge so send it in . As I said very common with this model.
