Question about Computers & Internet
I have switched back to apple mail coz outlook 2011 was giving problems (hanging up and slow processing). Apple mail works very much fine and I have used it before too. The only problem is I am not able to transfer or you can say move the emails from outlook 2011 to apple mail. The import function seems not to recognize outlook 2011 and is not present in options. Moving through imap is a hard work, if moving thousands of emails and mail folder hierarchy is also disturbed while treating each folder particularly. So is there any other way around to do this job?
Apple online store has provided tool fopr such situations:
Have a look: https://itunes.apple.com/in/app/olm-converter-pro-apped/id522796199?mt=12
I suggest you to first go with the trial version first to check the compatibility of this tool with your system.
I hope this helps you. Thanks

This is a common problem and there are many solutions present for it.
Follow the steps and you will be able to import your mails easily
1.open outlook 2011
2. create a local folder
3. drag all your local emails to the folder we have created
4. then drag the local folder we have created to the lion's desktop (once it will finish, we'll have a .mbox file)
5. open mail
6. In Mail, choose File > Import Mailboxes -> choose .mbox file
You can use Exchange or IMAP accounts to have all the files on the
server, and then in Mail, but you would need significant storage space
there if you have a lot of e-mails.
You can use software approach to solve your problem. There are various softwares available online for this problem. One I know is Olm converter pro.
You can find it here: Convert mails (olm files) to Apple Mail

If you have all the latest updates to Outlook, drag a folder from
Outlook to your desktop and it will export as an mbox file which you can
then import into Mail. To get your contacts and calendards into the OS X
applications, go to Sync Services under the Tools menu in Outlook and
select to sync the contacts and calendar.
Or you can simply look for third party tools for better and fast results, here is one recommended by apple store:
