Question about Televison & Video
I received this TV to fix and was told if I could I could keep it. Its a nice 42" 1080P flat screen and I have light experience in fixing small things and know my way around circuits. I'm having an issue where every so often, the screen will go black and I will see flickering lines across the screen every 5 inches or so. This happens once every 5 minutes or so. Occasionally the screen will also get distorted. Most of the time it displays the image perfectly but it has this issue once every 5 minutes or so and has to be turned off and back on to be fixed. I checked a few of the easily visible capacitors for bulges and did not find any. I also uploaded a youtube video of the Issue and the TV here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjGYyAAHMBY&feature=youtu.be Any help would be appreciated!
Test the IPM fail, cable connection. God bless you

This prolem could be one of two problems, first the inverter board may have bad connections on it, its used to light the lamps in the back of the PDP Panel (SCREEN) second the Digital board may becoming faulty, there may be a faulty IC on the digital board or main system control board.
But first I suggest you take off the back and disconnect all plugs you see and reinsert then firmly to make sure they are on tight.

I have this exact same problem on my same model TV. It started just before Christmas. Have you been able to find any resolution?

I've watch your problem on youtube , that problem can be from main board. But to make sure main board problem, you should check without inputs first. Unplug all input (HDMI, Component, AV in, PC).
Than turn on your tv again. If that conditions still appear, i suggest you to call samsung technician to repair it.
