Samsung 244T turns itself off when I using it. It comes bank on in a few minutes

monitor is power saving mode
when taking a monitor out of this mode is move the mouse or press keys on the keyboard You can buy a used from eBay for $100 or I would buy a new one for about the same price 24 inch monitors are around $100

Hello Its a faulty power supply.The power supply have deffective parts like the leak capacitor and shorted transistor.The capacitor is leak its has a bulging tops.Its better to contact a authorized service center to repair your television.Its a major problem that can do the technician only.Thanks..

samsung plasma just started doing the same thing, but turns itself on & off only seconds apart, so I can't even get a picture. Another site gave this advice.
Press D.menu
select SETUP icon
select SYSTEM
select SOFTWARE UPGRADE
select STANDBY MODE UPGRADE
select OFF

Have you tried booting the machine into safe mode? turn off the pc and try inserting a rescue boot disc to see if it will go that route.

if the monitor will match well with Nvidia GTS8800 graphic card, you need to consider two issue:
1) resolution match from windows display property and moniter manu same one.
2) refresh frequency match from windows display property-->advance-->monitor and monitor manu--> refresh frequency
if two side setting could be all matched that you can use normally
if two side setting could not be matched any above step that you can not use some resolution normally possible.
