Water pressure has dropped over time. when softener is bypassed, water pressure is fine

A inline water softener functions similar to a filter. When a filter become clogged it restricts water flow. Perhaps this is what is happening with the inline softener unit. Try changing to a new unit.

The waster Softner does not regenerate on its own?

Hi Pam,

Did you just install this ? If not, how old is it ? This is a metered water softener, and if it is not counting gallons, it will never regenerate. To check this, press and hold the SELECT button for 3 seconds, and turn on a faucet. This will show the counting of the water. If it is not counting, there may be debris in the meter turbine, or it is plumbed in backwards.

Kenmore Water Softeners Model 625388270 Serial 12756 - Water above the salt level. I have cleaned the venture nozzle. Did not help

Hello,
On this model, the problem is usually the rotor and rotor seal. When they wear, they don't let the softener create a vacuum to pull the brine water from the tank. This is a fairly complex repair. I don't have a service manual for you. The parts are available from Sears. I know this is not much help, but I've worked on hundreds of these and this is the problem 98% of the time.

I have a GXSF27EO1 water softener serial # LF102017B that makes a strange moaning sound frequently and I don't know what causes it, can you help me? Thank you, Don Kneebone Email donk98926@hotmail.com

That typically means the softener is in a regeneration cycle. When the valve is switching cycles it quite frequently will have the noise you describe. The regeneration cycle should be set for 2am.
