You didn't give a model or brand so here is what to check. Find the model--serial tag on the air conditioner and it should tell you type of freon and usually the amount. Most older air conditioners were freon R22.
What came loose was the heat sensor bulb, it is snapped into a retainer clip and connected to the unit be a very small copper tube.
This is not the cause. Most likely cause is low freon, bad compressor or the capacitor
I understand that your inquiry is listed under Frigidaire Air Conditioner and that you would like to know what type of Freon 5695 is. You may typically locate information regarding the Freon on the serial tag (which lists your model number) of your air conditioner. You can normally find the serial tag behind the front grill by the air outlet or on the inside of the cabinet. Hope this helps!
Refrigerant 22. Here is the site for the units specifications on the CPLE24-1. http://www.alpinehomeair.com/viewproduct.cfm?productID=453054740 Please grade the help I have given. Good or bad, it all helps. Thank you. Roger
Antifreeze is only for the radiator, does not affect the air conditioner, make sure you have the setting on cold, if it is still hot than take it to your local air conditioner re gas station, most auto electricians do it, dealerships usually send them out which you end up paying extra for!!! You just need a re gas in your air conditioner.
