Bryant Furnace starts up then shuts off

If you have a standard thermostat and not a digital stat, the problem could very well be the 'heat anticipator' setting on the thermostat sub-base. It is a variable resistor that has to be adjusted to match the amp draw of the heating control circuit. In the heat mode, the heat anticipator 'warms' up the thermostat because of the heat generated through the system controls and causes the thermostat to 'anticipate' room temperature setpoint just a little before it really gets there.

If set too low, the result is a short cycle, if set too high, the result is an overshoot in setpoint temperature. The average setting for the anticipator is .4. You should see a very thin 'wire wound' flat resistor under the cover with a thin metallic pointer that physically slides from left to right or right to left. The pointer is pointing to its 'setpoint'. Adjust it up .1 or .2 from its current setting and observe operation for a week or so to see if any appreciable change has occurred.

Service Mode for GE Harmony DPGT750EC

To find out what all of those sensors in your dryer are reporting, you have to enter Service Mode. To do so,
  1. Power on the dryer...or press "Home" if it is already on.
  2. Press "Home" and "Help" simultaneously until the dryer beeps.
  3. Choose your type of drying cycle and begin it.
You will notice on the bottom right of the screen a bunch of numbers. The top number will change constantly because that is the blower speed. If it is not getting up to @2,400 rpms, then you need to clean the blower blades and trap or take the blower motor out and re-solder all of the contacts inside the motor. Be careful and take note on taking apart the motor and putting it back together. Don't attempt this if you don't know what you're doing! Ask for help if you're not sure. And always unplug the dryer before taking it apart!!!

The numbers below that are the temperature setpoint and the actual temperature(air dry will result in zeros). The actual temperature should reach the setpoint unless the blower motor is not running- safety feature. Extra low setting resulted in a setpoint of 42 degrees Celsius? on my dryer, Low setting was 67 degrees C, Medium setting was 83 degrees C, High setting was at 100 degrees C. Other sensors include humidity sensor, vent temperature sensor, line frequency reading under OK VOLT(@60 US, @50 Europe), voltage(200-220) and countdown timer in seconds(last row). If the voltage is roughly half, check both breakers!

I hope this little tip will help you in your repairs!

How do i adjust AC temperature variance on a Honeywell TH5220D1003 thermostat

If you are talking about the difference between heating mode and cooling mode and the room setpoint, you can not change it. It comes from the factory with a 3 degree difference. In other words if you raise the heat setpoint until it is within 3 degrees of the cooling setpoint, for every degree you raise the heat setpoint the cooling will raise a degree.
About all you can do is increase the distance between the heat and cooling setpoint. To do this either lower the cooling setpoint to 3 degrees higher than the heat setpoint you want and then increase the cooling setpoint the desired setting. For example heat and cool setpoints are 67 and 70 respectively, and you want 65 and 73. Lower the cooling setpoint to 68 and then raise the cooling setpoint to 73. Now your heating will come on 3 degress lower than 68, the 65 you wanted and cooling will come on at 73. Remember, the thermostat new setpoints will turn on the cooling at 75 and turn back off at 73 and heat will turn on at 63 and turn off at 65.
You can perform the same using the heating setpoint, just have to look at it backwards. If you need to lower the difference I recommend a 8000 series thermostat. They are the most functional thermostat that Honeywell makes, be in mind they are about 3 times more expensive and many of the setting require a well trained tech to interpret and set properly.
Hope this helps.

Although I set the desired temperature, it only reads that number for a brief minute then it changes to a much highter number. How can I set the thermometer?

What your seeing is normal. Anytime you change the temperature by pressing the up or down arrow to change the setpoint, it will show you what your current setpoint is. After the keys are idle, basically, your not touching the keypad for 5 to 8 seconds, it changes to the current temperature in the room. So, when you touch the keys, it gives you the temperature you want. When you don't touch the keys, it shows you what the actual temperature is in the room. Your unit is running normal and as designed.

I have a new Dell MX5000 revolution keyboard and mouse. The display does not show the time nor will the temperature change from Celius to Farenheit. The keyboard and mouse otherwise work great.

Your Logitech MX5000 requires their SetPoint application software to make those changes. I you do not have it, you can download it HERE. Once the software is installed, the time will sync with your laptop and the temperature setting can be changed within the My Keyboard tab.

How do i test my room thermostat

To check your thermostat you need to advance the temperature towards the setpoint slowly. You also need an acurate thermometer to see if the thermostat will turn the heat or A/C on when the setpoint is reached. Also check the make sure that the temperature on the thermostat is close to the reading on your thermostat.
