Question about Dyson DC25 All Floors Bagless Upright Vacuum

Brushbar housing truning excessively!

Hi, When I'm putting the vacuum back into an upright position, the grey lever that sits in front of the ball & connects into the brush-bar housing keeps rising. If you lift the hoover, the brush-bar housing rotates excessively. It appears that something isn't holding the parts together? Thanks for any assistance you can give, Mark

SOURCE: Bottom agitator brush bar doesn't rotate.

First, check to make sure the brush bar is on. The switch is right next to the machine's on-off button, and it is easy to accidentally turn it off when you turn the DC 25 on or off.

Next, check for and clear any obstructions in the brush bar housing.

Finally, check for belt wear and replace if necessary. There is a very video online showing the procedure.

Where is reset button on dc 24

Hi there,

Your DC24 is equipped with a sensor which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. After you've checked the cleaner head for any obstructions, and cleared any threads or hair from around the brushbar, you should be able to reset your machine as shown in the video below.

You may also want to refer to our online Support guide:

The front brush doesn't go down when the vacuum is not in the upright position?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. Your cleaner is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if it gets tangled with a rug fringe, shoelace etc. After making sure the brushbar is free of threads, hair or other obstructions, you'll be able to reset the cleaner and get the brushbar running again. The easiest way to do this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=1502&product=DC24-ALLFLOORS

Use something like the eraser-end of a pencil to depress the reset button, and make sure you push it in firmly until you hear an audible 'click'.

Hopefully this should resolve your issue. However, if you're still having difficulties, please get in touch with us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you and provide the assistance you need.

Kind regards,

When I lock (Dyson DC 15 ) upright position the brushes still working

Hi there,

There is a second switch directly adjacent to the ON/OFF switch. This turns power on and off for the burshbar. Please check this switch is in the off position.

If the switch is definitely in the off position and the brushbar continues to run with the vacuum in the upright position, then the brushbar switch has failed in the closed (power on) position and will most likely need to be replaced.

Please check this and post back if you need further assistance.

BElectric

Can not get the beater bar seated back into position need diagram

hi,
make sure the belt isnt tangled and the brush bar has to be seated into foot plate correctly before soleplate will fit, check the ends of the brush bar and you will either have 2 x little brush stumps on the ends and in which case there will be slots in the footplate so that the brush sits in correctly or you will have a brushbar that has small grooves on the ends and to which sits in footplate.simply turn brushbar by hand until brushbar sits into foot plate correctly then attach soleplate by putting front end in 1st then lock it. if photos are required for furtehr help please email me at dysonlogistics@ol.com
