SOURCE: Dryer model DBXR463. Power is

If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with:
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached. Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

SOURCE: Maytag Epic dryer won't start

hi there,

if it beeps it means that the keypad is sending a signal to the control board to start it but it doesn't. since the control board sends a signal to the motor to start the dryer to spin. does the dryer hum?

SOURCE: LG Electric Dryer DLE2515S - dryer timer is stuck on 6 minutes and continues drying until I manually switch off - sensor dryer does not appear to be working either.

OK, test the dryness sensor for its operational value. if the test confirms sensor function, you will need to replace the main PCB board in this case.

Now, if the sensor test reveals a faulty sensor device, simply replace the sensor. In most cases, this iwll be a fualty PCB main and, replacing it will usually fix this issue.

Why wont my matage dryer get hot

If you recently had a power failure or just installed your dryer sometimes its necessary to reset your breaker box. Unplug your dryer and turn off and then back on the breaker switch to your dyer. then re plug in your dryer and see if that works

Start button does not start dryer. Dryer has power (light comes on inside) and I can feel the reset when the selector dial is moved

ok, this is what you can check, manually turn the drum inside to feel if there is any tension, you should feel a slight resistance, if not then your belt has broken, if that is not the case you have a bad door switch but more than likely you have a bad fuse. if your lint filter is on top of dryer, this fuse is located in the back, it is white in color.

Dryer wont stay running

Chances are the motor switch is stuck (most likely)or the motor run circuit has failed (least likely but possible).
Disconnect unit from power and expose motor for thorough cleaning. Clean centrifigual switch sliding mechanism on motor shaft. It should move one direction under spring tension and spring back when released. Re-assemble and test.

Dryer wont start

First I would check the door switch I could have broken off or quit working if that is ok then there is a white thermal fuse on the blower housing behind the back panel check with a ohms meter to see if it is good it has two wires going to it

No power to dryer was working fine no warning would not start

Most likely a bad fuse. There is one above the heat element, also may have one on the blower housing. Test with an ohmmeter or bypass. Hope this helps!
