Question about Philips 47PFL7422D/37 Television
Plug it in...the blue light comes on for a few seconds, then the red light comes on and repeats the following sequence:blinks 6 times pause blinks 3 times fast I replaced the power supply board and now the TV does nothing...no lights no sounds...nothing
You still have power supply trouble, even after replacement of the board. Recheck the replacement work; could be something wrong there

Testimonial: "Well, the board was used, so I'm wondering if the board is any good. Don't think it's the replacement work because I put the old board back on and does the blinking..."

It's a power supply related problem.
The flashing 8 times is a trouble code. A Service Manual for your TV model will have the info on the codes. It could be a bad capacitor or a transformer on the power supply board. If you have some electronic experience, you can find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet. Cost about under $20.

Try unplugging the TV and then plugging it back in after a bit (at least 10 seconds). In several cases, the TV will start to work for a while.
However, the blinking indicates a part or parts that are getting close to failure. Most often this is 2-4 capacitors on the main board. These can be replaced (either by yourself or by a technician if the TV is under an extended warranty). Radio Shack will have the parts; a site called tvrepairkits.com has many prepackaged sets - check for your model.
I hope this helps.
