Could be just an internal fuse or the magnetron. The fuse is cheap, the magnetron not so much! If you open it up BE CAREFUL! There are dangerously high voltages present even after it has been turned off and unplugged for a while.
A quick search shows that Sears carried that model and have parts. Might be worth a call to Sears Service
That usually means it is a faulty and really would not be worth repairing.
If you need it for a reason then i am sure you can purchase second user CRT monitors very cheaply or a new or used LED/LCD display.
This means the printer has lost the front panel menu items, likely due to some Microsoft update or firewall update in the computer.
Launch the HP solution center on the computer. Click the SETTINGS button. Hover over or click the SCAN SETTINGS button, and choose SCAN TO SETUP. Add or remove items depending on the options you wish to be available at the time of scan, and click UPDATE DEVICE. Your scan options should now be available from the front panel of the device. If this did not work, try again in 30 minutes.
If this still didn't work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the software.
NOTE: these instructions assume you are using the CUE13 (black interface) software. If you are not, uninstall the software and drivers for the printer that you are using, and go to the HP website, and get the latest drivers and CUE software.
Try using the mouse on another computer. Does the mouse work on this different computer? If not, then the mouse is probably broken. You can get a replacement mouse for very cheaply if you're not concerned about brand name, features, etc.
Here is a mouse on newegg.com: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826193049
