Got a Yamaha 350 warrior 2001 just rebuild last year and sometimes it starts and sometime it don't start at all anybody help me find the problem ?

2001 tenth digit in a 17 digit serial # is the year on all vehicles cars, trucks, bikes, ATV,etc.

Firstly i own a shop and 60% of the time it is a lose batery terminal.It sounds stupit but it is 100% true

Test the battery by jumping from another vehicle. This engine has high compression and will act as described when the battery fails to produce adaquate cranking amps. If this solves it, replace the battery and ride on.

Check spark plug, that sounds like it's running little too lean.

It sounds to me like you have a faulty ignition ciol If you are able to borrow one off a mates bike of the same model & try it if you find your machine starting with the borrowed coil get the to a dealership not a wrecker in my expierience( somthirty odd years of it 0 second hand electrical parts will only give you trouble all the best .Geoff

Chk for a vacuum leak around the carb(s). Will not idle with a bad vacuuum leak and will be difficult with a minor leak. Good Luck Ned

may want to chec fuse-sometimes a normal lookin one is bad-test inspect wiring in ignition system for corrosion-cuts plug wire could be bad or connect

if your using the old bolts, 35 ft/lbs. if new bolts, 25 ft/lbs. that will work just fine.

with the cylinder set at top dead center compression. using a feeler gauge between the tappets and the valves there should be .002-.003in clearance on the intake valves, and .006-.007in. clearance on the exhaust valves. thank you.
