Enabling boot device

When I turn on computer, I get blue screen with "Intel Desktop Boards" at top. I hit F2 to run setup and get "Bios Setup Utility." I click on Boot and see that both boot devices are disabled for some reason. Note on sidebar says, "A device enclosed in parenthesis has been disabled in the corresponding type menu." Been trying to figure out how to enable them, but can't seem to. Please help!

The best way restart the computer HOLD the keys CTRL or FN +f11 or f12 depend of your mark, model, and go to restore to the factory default. and restart again.
God bless you
Otherwise if the problem persis with blue screen, you must go to website computer supplier and get the suppor via ONLINE chat, for indication exactly, what goes on with your computer, you can RUN the software diagnostic coming with your computer or download from them.

SOURCE: My Dell laptop will not boot up

Make sure that there is no cd inside the cd rom or floppy in the drive (if your laptop has a floppy drive),
Then go back to bios (F2), and choose your hard drive as priority boot option 1, save and exit.

As you computer boots up press F8 to get an option screen on how you want to start windows, select Last good known configuration. Hopefully this will boot your laptop.

SOURCE: no boot sector on internal hard drive

If the bios or setup utility can't detect your hard drive then this can be a physical problem. I suggest that you reseat or tighten the cable connecting your hard drive to the motherboard. You need to open the hard drive panel then unplug and replug the hard drive cable.

SOURCE: Won't turn on

No bootable device usually means that your hard drive has failed. It is either not connected properly to the computer or the drive needs to be replaced.

or
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
Also you might try

If I don't know what computer you have It makes helping you more difficult.

Here are some options for different computers:

  • Turn on the computer, during POST hit the Delete button - Most computers with AMI BIOS
  • Turn on the computer, hit Ctrl+Alt+F3, Ctrl+Alt+Ins, or Fn+F1 - Older Lenovo.
  • Turn on the computer, immediately hit the F10 button. - Some Dell computers.
  • Turn on the computer, hit Fn+Esc or Fn+F1. Older Dell laptops.
If you tell me exactly what you have, I'll tell you exactly what to do ;)

Does not boot. displays intel desktop board in blue screen

Blue error message comes when there is any issue with memory.
First Refix your RAM memory.
Then boot your computer with recovery disk.
For that you have to set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom .
When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key then you see bios setup screen.
Then go to boot option and set first boot device as cd or dvd.
Then put bootable disk in computer then it boot with it.
Then follow the procedure on screen.
choose "R" option for enter in "Recovery Console"
Then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
then it fix error on harddisk then then restart computer then if still same issue then you have to repair your windows with recovery disk.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

Recover BIOS d845gebv2 motherboard my motherboard does not boot.monitor displays intel desktop board in blue screen

Right after you power the computer on start tapping F2 rapidly on the keyboard until you are in the BIOS setup. When you are in the BIOS setup, check to see that the computer recognizes your boot device and that your boot order is correct. Also, if you have changed any jumpers on your mainboard; change the back.

Disc failure 0 press F1 to continue

He has accessed the bios and change the boot setting devices by enabling the floppy drive which you do not have.

Go Bios (F1 or F2) on first screen. and select load default setting

Also go to Boot Options and make sure 1st boot is the HDD not FDD or removable disk

Also in any menu mention of Floppy Disk make sure it is set to not installed or disabled.

keep me posted

You need to change the boot order in the bios of the computer. It is also called the setup. When you turn the computer on, in the top right hand corner of your screen you will see F2-Setup F12-boot menu. Select F2 and when you get into the bios go through the options until you find "boot order" or just "boot". That will show what devices your computer will use, and in what order, to boot up. If the floppy is below the main hard drive then it won't work unless the hard drive is defective. Move the floppy to the top of the list, exit saving changes, and it will now check the floppy first.

Update my Intel D845GVSR Bios Version to VA84510A.86A.0056.P20, then my USB driver is not working at all.

I followed the suggestion of changing the BIOS configuration to the recovery mode, however one thing was missing - it required a startup disk and I didn't have one. I then changed the BIOS configuration to the config (pins 2 & 3) mode, booted up and went to the BIOS/CMOS setup and a new menu tab appeared called "maintenance". I went to the advance tab and selected USB configuration and, instead of a blank screen, there appeared a selection for USB support and it showed disabled. I changed the setting to enabled and three more lines of information regarding USB came up, but required not further changes. I went to F10 and saved and exited and I now have me USB capability back.
