Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers
Yesterday we lost power. When it came back on, the Low light was on, which I wasn't concerned about because I assumed it would go off after a few cycles (we don't use a rinse agent). However, ever since then, if we close our dishwasher all the way, it starts running. We don't have any cycle selected and haven't pressed start. It just starts as soon as it clicks shut. Can you help?
Hi Emily, I am happy to assist you. First, I suggest reprogramming the dishwasher. This can be done by either flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. Sometimes, resetting power to the unit for about ten minutes does the trick. If not, you may want to connect with a local servicer who will be best equipped to pinpoint the problem since the unit could possibly be experiencing a communication issue with the control board and door lock assembly, a potential wiring failure or a faulty door latch. If you don't know a qualified technician, you can use the service locator option on the manufacturer site to find one near you.

SOURCE: my dishwasher shuts itself off
The lights will typically blink when the door comes open. It may be that when the washer warms up, parts of it expands and allows the door to open slightly. It may also be that the trigger that registers the door being shut is not being tripped.

This is very likely due to a bad main electronic control board but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.

The steam has gotten into the keypad display and fried it. Call Fridgidaire and let them know you've seen numerous people on the internet with the same problem and that you need part# 154554401 It worked for me.

I successfully replaced the broken handle for my ELECTROLUX 24" Built-In DISHWASHER Model FDB956RB.
Try to check to make sure you reassembled all the parts and wire connectors properly.
Other than the broken handle, did you have other problems prior to replacing the handle/latch?
