When I got to print something, my computer says that an error has occurred. it comes up with this message: Support code: 6000 A printer error has occurred. Turn the printer off and then on again. If this doesn't clear the error, the printer needs repair. See the user's guide and contact the service center. Cancel printing, turn off the machine. Then clear the jammed paper or protective material that is preventing the FINE cartridge holder from moving, and turn the machine on again. If not remedied, turn off machine, unplug the power cord of the machine from power supply. Plug machine back in and turn power back on. If problem is not resolved, please contact service center. This info is from Advanced Guide Troubleshooting Section under An Error Message is Displayed on the LCD....error code 5100. This is a link to Canon to download Guides.

SOURCE: printer malfunction
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Your laser unit is faulty. Its more cost-effective to buy new printer. Having it repaired will cost about same as a new one. If still under warranty then just return and have it replaced.
