SOURCE: won't shut down or boot acer aspire all in one desktop AZ1620

VIRUS. a big bad one. Try the restore discs or a bootable USB. you made a bootable restore right? RIGHT?

Testimonial: "it is a friend computer so don't have restore disk. I borrowed a corded usb keybord to use instead of her wireless on I was able to use alt F10 only selected to restore to factory default settings. Everything seamed to be going good but it has stayed at 13/30 for installing office 2010 for approx 2 hr now . Not to sure if I should do something during this process or just leave it to tomorrow and hope it finishes reinstalling factory setting. If it is still at the same place of software installation tomorrow what should I do?"

Keeps beeping when on

Beeps and blinking lights tell the technician what is wrong with the computer. Count the beeps and the pattern of the beeps (3 long beeps, 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps, etc).

Most times it's something related to the motherboard such as memory or video card.

Did you see anything post on the screen during the boot process?

Check your memory.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Acer aspire 9300. Get 3 loud beeps when trying to boot. Will not boot.

3 beeps usually indicate a memory failure. if you have more than one memory module try powering the computer with just one of the memory modules installed.

Acer Aspire T 180 stops with Acer Logo

What you were trying to do tried to remove the RAM and boot your pc. Buddy once you remove your RAM you are going to get long beeps as it tells there is no RAM on mother board and it won't boot. Just install back all the things and let me know how many beeps you are getting and what type short and long.

My acer travelmate wont boot just beeps 4 times i recently reinstalled XP Pro os on acer ferrari 4000 and have recieved this same problem 4 beeps and black screen.won't boot..bios or os. HELP

I long + 3 short beeps or 3 short + 1 long beeps indicates memory problem.
The RAM module/s may need reseating to re-establish proper electrical contact.
If it still doesn't boot up then :-
Get the RAM module/s may be faulty, test the module/s in another laptop or get your friendly computer shop to test them.

the vga board has failed, its a very common problem in acer laptops, you can get a replacement part from www.acerparts.com im not sure if they ship into us but for europe thats where I get my parts.
my acers vga failed two times, ones within warranty and 12months after that, I have to say that acer products are really bad quality, I'm not sure about the latest models but from what I've seen the vga chipsets have real issues with the motherboards and keep failing over and over again.

I have not looked inside your model but the vga is either integrated into the motherboard = that means the repair will cost the whole motherboard, better to buy a new one.

if your model has a removeable vga like mine does, then you can consider changeing it to a new one. contact acer parts.

One of the covers in the bottom is the memory, one is network and last one I don't remember.
here are the contact details if your acer is out of warranty
http://www.acerparts.com/contact_us.php

The parts for your model are at http://www.acerparts.com/index.php?cPath=561_562_1064

you will have to contact acer parts directly, it may be that the vga is build into the motherboard or then the vga parts are not listed.

Hope this may help;
