Question about Computers & Internet
Yes I have a Hewlitt Packard DC7600 sff comuter that came with xp-pro on it.When I 1st put in a dvd I got a message from Microsoft saaying I lacked a DVD decoder and directed me to a page were I chose Nvidia as a DVD processor. I dont remember paying for it . And for 3 yrs plus I could play DVD's no problem, however I had to do a system restore and since then in the DEVICE MANAGER it shows a exclamation marker at my Nvidia I?O controller file. Upo further investagateing ifound out the device was either missing, corrupt or it's drivers were either misssinor need updateing. I called Hewlitt Packard Remote Services , the people who maintain my computer and all he did was uninstall the driver, reinstallit and told me I needed to get a DVD software program to play my DVD's with . I tried to explain to him that for yeas I was playing DVD's on my system but now I cannot. I thought the Nvidia system I had on my computer handeled DVD playing. He told me the two were unrelated and told me I could use VLC to play DVD's for free. But if I was useing Nvidia before and my computer was set up for it. I want my Nvidia system back. Anybody out there understand this and can help me out. Any assistance would be greatly apprciated.
