SOURCE: replacing fuel tank on craftsman edger and other

ok If you have a Walbro WT series carb "without" a built on primer bulb here it is. First off if the fuel lines disintegrated you MUST disassemble it and clean it out. The MOST infintesimle speck of gas line trapped, can allow good prime and bad operation. OK? Don't be lazy on this. Just be delicate removing the flaps gasket and diaphram. ZAMA GND-12 Is the replacement Gasket and diaphram kit fot that carb. Use a cleaner, compressed air or blow good thru it. OK Now...Primer bulb, Carb, and Fuel tank, re connects: Smaller Diameter line comes from Gas tank (Connect filter screen to this in tank) to the short Straight brass carb connector. Primer bulb suction goes to the bent carb brass connector. If small line brings fuel "in" this other line sucks it back "Thru the primer bulb" and the blow side of the primer bulb sends it back to the fuel tank! So...Small Line brings fuel "TO/IN" carb thru short brass connect on carb. Other carb connect goes to bulb suction "IN", Then primer bulb "Pressure OUT" goes thru the larger tube "back to fuel tank". Trust me I know how frustrating a simple diagram is to find online fo this set up. And if you have a carb problem on top of the hook up uncertainty you got frustration. Not only was online help hard to find (Mfg...etc NFG at all!) My local repairshop in BBrook NJ could not tell me how!!! and thats no lie! Walbro has a "generic" carb diagram but no "hook up info" specifically. Poulan don't list it either. And these things routinly fall to pcs. all 3 of mine crumpled together on yr. 3 of use.

SOURCE: GAS LINE PROBLEM

Hi this is the way it should go: 1 from the filter in the tank to the bottom of the carby,2 from the top of the carby to the inlet on the primer,3 from the outlet on the primer back to the tank as this is the return line nothing goes onto it.

SOURCE: Took tank off weed eater and not sure how the lines go back on

The line with the fuel filter in the end comes out of the tank and it goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The other line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb, and the third section goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on carburator. Got it? lol Hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: fuel lines inside of tank fell off

This is the typical fuel line routing2.gif on many models: One line ( the one with the fuel filter in the end of it) comes out of the fuel tank2.gif and goes to the lower port on the carburator. The second line goes from the fuel tank to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb. The third section goes from the top port on the primer bulb to the top port on the carburator. Hope this helps and best wishes.

SOURCE: how do the gas lines hook up on a mccollogh 2815

Most of these trimmers are pretty much plumbed the same way (except for the higher-end machines). Please read this earlier post by myself.

My 93 Honda CBR600 TURNS BUT Wont start. it started yesterday but was leaking fuel through the fuel lines so turned it off n took gas tank off n replaced hose clamps n put back together n now it wnt start....

When you put the fuel hoses back and refitted the tank, did you make sure the vacuum tube to the fuel tap was reconnected ?

The fuel tap has a vacuum connection in order that the fuel is automatically cut off when the engine stops - the tap has on-off-reserve manual settings, but this is overridden by the vacuum. So, even if you have set the tap to "on", if the vacuum hose is disconnected/blocked/leaking, no fuel will reach the carbs.

The vacuum hose is about half the diameter of the fuel hoses and connects to the smaller spigot on the tap, and either the number 1 or 2 cylinder vacuum take off point on the carbs.

I accdently put deiciel in my go kart and i dont know how to clean the engine

Remove the fuel line to the carb and drain all diesel out, flush with new gas. You will need to drop the carb float bowl to drain out diesel from it. Consider allowing some fuel to flow out to flush the inlet passageway, put it all back together and start it up.

Weedeater, 18cc, replaced fuel line & purge button, the purge button will draw fuel into the fuel line but the purge button will remain colapsed.

You may have accidently hooked the lines to the purge button wrong. The purge button (primer button) should have a short stem and a long stem. The short stem is the suction side of the primer button and should be hooked up to the return on the carburetor. You actually s*uck gas through the carb and not from the tank. The carb should have two hook ups. If you hook the fuel line up to one of the lines on the carb and the button is hard to push and doesn't return to normal, hook the line up to the other one. When you push the primer button gas should be pulled through the carb. The other line on the carb goes back to the fuel tank.80a09a6.jpg

Does the fuel return line have to be there for my 99 explorer to run? someone did an engine swap and completely removed the fuel return line from the tank to the duck bills in the engine compartment,...

This line has to be hooked up for gas to go back to the tank. Gas gets sucked out of the tank then through the engine and then the excess has to return to the tank. This keeps air bubbles out of the system after it runs dry.
