If the coburn has a scart interface u willl need a scart cable that terminates to rca the simple av vcr cable jack then ;ug the scart end to the theater and the rca to the tv front jack inputs n u ae ok alternatively get a hdmi cable that terminates to rca and connect the hdmi end to the theater and the rca to the dvi/ dvd/compoment input remember sony use icons not words for there accessories for audio input the icon is an in-arrow to a square box and output an out-arrow from a square box select tv. dvd or component av before u start

SOURCE: i own a 52 inch rca projection tv and last week

Most likely the Horizontal output transistor has shorted. When it shorts it causes the power supply to chirp. This is a common problem with this series of TV. Have a shop check it out. It should not be real expensive.

This reson you are not hearing any "TV AUDIO" through your RCA surround system would be due to your tv sound output not being connected to an audio input into your surround system. You can hear DVDs,CDs and radio possibly mp3 if connected, as these are built in to the amplifier which the speakers connect to.
If the tv has a Line out (via phono plugs) and NOT via headphone out, connect it to an audio input on the RCA surround system. If the RCA has no other available inputs, well....there ain't a lot you can do but watch CSI with the sound from the TV and then Star Wars (for example) through the TV and Surround system.

Wiring problems

Not certain if HDMI can be used in a setup like this. I'd try it from the home theater (HT) to the TV, and other wiring for the other components.

For video:
All of these should have component connections (Y/Pr/Pb). You'll only need the video cables for each device:
  • Video out from cable, HT, and combo player.
  • Video in to TV. Your choice of inputs.
For audio:
Hopefully, the two output devices (the combo player and the cable box) have digital audio (fiber optic, or RCA coaxial). Otherwise, you'll only get stereo sound. VHS is stereo only anyway.
  • Audio out from cable box and combo player.
  • Audio in to HT.
The TV won't have anything to do with audio in this setup. Alternatively, you could try hooking up all inputs to the TV, and connecting audio out from the TV to the HT. Works best if this connection is digital, for surround.

Sony KF50we60 hdmi-dvi sound cuts when plugging into a ht-sf2300

DVI = HDMI without the audio connectors. So basically you need to connect your audio in some different way, PS3s allow you to keep your video signal as HDMI and change the Audio signal to component, so that is one way or doing it, not sure if the blue ray players allow you to do this though.
