Question about Amcor Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Air Conditioner isn't blowing cold air

I have a CFI4000E unit, and I have gone down the list of trouble shooting measure provided for me and corrected the one that I thought was the problem, i.e. cleaning the filters and replacing them, and the unit still blows luke cool air ulike the day before when it was working just fine. A thunder storm came through the night before and kicked off the power to the house, but we never restarted the unit. We left it off, so Im wondering perhaps the sudden interruption to the power to the house may have affected the unit.

There are a few thing's that can cause this, if the evaporator coil in the a/c is blocked a little, you could get a little cool air, it's like having a dirty filter. If the condenser coil is blocked, you won't get cold air. If the refrigerant is low, you won't get cold, cold air.

SOURCE: Will not cool properly.

You have either a faulty thermostat, dirty condenser and evaporator or a faulty run capacitor. Need to service soon before the compressor is damaged. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: air conditioner is not blowing cold air

Is the compressor running ? If it is not running, try to adjust the thermostat to lowest temperature. If the compressors does not run then th ethermostat is defective.

SOURCE: AC Fan doesn't blow cold air, frozen coil noticed outside, resetting power resolves temporarily

You need to call a reputable service technician.  The freezing up usually is associated with a low refrigerant charge or low air flow.  Check your return air filter and replace as needed.

SOURCE: unit not blowing cold air

you have a slow leak in your refrigerant and need to find the leak. you will have to get an AC repairman to come to your house and check it for leaks and fix the problem.
