I am trying to add Sirius radio on my kenwood DNX572BH MODEL. SIRRUS IS TELLING ME I NEED A RADIO ID number. I cannot locate it since the device is installed

The Radio ID can be found by tuning the radio to channel 0. It is also on the Sirius XM Connect tuner and the packaging for the XM Connect. You can directly tune the radio to a channel by pressing the Up arrow on the control screen. Next look at the bottom left corner of the screen for an icon with 3 rows and columns. Touch this icon. Enter the channel you need and press Enter. See page 68 of the manual for the DNX572BH (page 69 of the PDF). This manual is available from the support page for the Receiver: http://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/navigation_multimedia/dnx572bh/support.html?model=DNX572BH . The direct link to the manual in English is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/IM386_Ref_K_En_01.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Go to channel one: IIRC it will show you the radio ID number that you need to get it going.

How do I display the radio ID number, so that I can listen to Satellite radio?

Verify if the radio is "Satellite ready" or if it comes with the remote tuner unit. I believe you have to buy a separate tuner add-on and antenna in order to activate the satellite circuitry - THEN it will show you a radio ID. I think ONLY the Alpine comes with the tuner. I would call Crutchfield and they can tell you what all you need with that tuner to make it work with the satellite radio.

Turn the radio on an locate the Radio ID
For XM Radios

Your Radio ID can be displayed by tuning your radio to channel 0. (That's one channel down from the XM Preview.) Make sure to check your ID code carefully. Please note that the following letters are not used: I,O, S, and F.

Typically, satellite units get plugged into the antenna input of your radio, then you tune your radio to a specified station to access the satellite tuner

Setting up an account

In order to solve this problem, personally view the ID number of the radio in the car just to be sure, and call XM's 800 number once again.

Explain to them that even though this radio is on another account, it is permanately installed in your vehicle. Explain that the information they have on file must be the old owner of the vehicle and ask to see if the account is current or if it is old and unused. Tell them that any balance on the account is not your problem and that the radio came with your vehicle from a dealer. If they tell you the account is very unused and very old then ask them to please apply this radio ID to your new account that you need to create with them right then.

This kind of mismanagement of new customers is what big companies need to watch out for and stop doing. They need to recognize that a new owner of a car radio is not working for their accounting department and is not responsible for the former car owners satellite radio debt.

Satellite No Longer An Option on My Kenwood KDC-MP228

Your going to need to pull off the battery cable for about 2 to 5 minutes and see if this will reset the radio. Good Luck
