Question about Grohe Grohmix Thermostat Valve & Trim - 34436

Open Question

47111 I have a an older grohe thermostat valve and trim(34.434) and I am javing a problem with it. Before I purchase a new 47111 cartridge I would like to know how to get the volume lever to move beyond the straight down position. I assume this must be done before replacing the cartridge. I would be greatly appreciate any advice you could give me to solve this problem...Thanks, Stan Becker

yes this is definately the cartridge.You might not have to replace the cartridge.First take the cartidge out and see if their is any dirt causing the water to pass thru the spout.If thiers nothing obstructing the cartridge than you will need to get a new one.

the temp, control valve is getting to hot!!! there for only let so much hot water go thru, did you take the inner parts out when soldering this in, if not you might have damaged it, and if so need to replace the cartdrige

Before you install the temperature control knob, adjust the valve body (47111) with a wrench to set the temperature to "100 degree or close to it". Now, place the limit ring to tdc (top dead center) and control knob with the red 100-degree align to it. Your problem may have been the valve's temperature setting is out range when you installing the temperature control knob.

1. Turn thermostat handle (L) to the 100 °F (38 °C) safety

check, see fig. [6].

2. Unscrew handle (N) or lever (O).

3. Unscrew cap (M).

4. Pull off thermostat handle (L).

5. Remove screws (H) and escutcheon (G), see fig. [4].

6. Close both isolation valves (I).

7. Pull sleeve (F) from the mixer shank by pressing

down the tongue (D2), see fig. [7].

8. Extract clamp (D1).

9. Pull stop ring (D) until resistance is encountered

(approximately 3/8" [10mm]), see fig. [8].

10. Unscrew stop ring (D) complete with regulator

nut (K).

11. Unscrew thermoelement (47 050, 47 582) with 24mm
open-ended wrench, see page 2.

It is not too clear to me, but I'm not looking at it. lol

We have a Grohmix shower valve and we are unable to adjust the water temperature. Any assistance would be appreciated.
