SOURCE: bought agojama battery drill from

The valtage of the battery will not make any diference, you can use an 18v battery as long as it firs the battery housing. Always remember to disconnect any battery's if not in use because if you leave the battery connected it will drain and damage it.

SOURCE: Will a 12 volt slide

This close to father's day you should be able to buy a new drill for about the same as a battery. The 12v would overheat the motor if you ran it for an extended period.

Thereer is an 18V charger for another Challenger Extreme drill but I do not know about its use with your designated drill. I notice in the documentation 2 x 1.2 Ah Ni-Cd battery back
-1 x 3-5h charger

Here is a smart charger which is 3-5h:

It shuts off when the batteries are charged.

Where can i get a 18 volt battery for my steelcraft cordless tools.

I did a quick search on the internet and found no 18V batteries for steelcraft tools. It seems that these batteries are in short supply for some reason. If you have an old battery that is not working, then you will have to disassemble it and rebuild it if needed. That may be a challenge, but it can be done. Good luck

Drill slow to start with full battery. Tends to give off cloud of dust at first. Drill is clean. Once running for a bit it's fine until next time. Corroded brushes or bearings?

if your drill is slow and easy to be heaten, the problem is on your bearing or it has a posibility that the coil or magnetic wire rewind on it is already partially burned.
But,you can check the carbon brush itself if it is still have the lenght of not below than 3/16''.if ever, you can replace it and clean the armature particularly on the part where the brushes connect.
