SOURCE: Stuck CD cassette
What you need is a screw driver not a sledgehammer. Open the bottom plate of the system and eject the cd magazine manually. Hope this solve your problem.

SOURCE: CD drawer will not open or close
The CD drawer mechanism needs a new belt. They have a motor that drives the tray mechanism, and there's a small belt that drives the main gear so that pushing the drawer in gently to close it doesn't damage anything. However, once that belt breaks/wears out, the drawer will stay in whatever position it was last in.

I am 99% certain that it will only work with 'audio' discs. This is the case with my Philips CDR-796 and as far as I am aware applies to all consumer CD recorders.
Hope this helps
