Question about Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 Tablet
I lost my a/c adapter that charges my tablet. The user manual indicates that I can use a USB charging cable plugged into my computer. The screen usually displays the charging icon but this time the tablet sounds like it is trying to charge but does not. Just flashes "Lenovo" and seems to turn on and off by itself whilst attempting to charge. What happened to my tablet. It was working fine before the battery ran low.

SOURCE: Battery not charging
how long has it been since the batt was purchased? usually batteries are considered consumable parts. meaning in due time, performance will degrade, laptop batteries should be good for 1-2 yrs, after that it battery hold will degrade. also check your ac adapter, try removing the batt, and turn the system on. if the system works without the batt. then it might be the batt itself thats having issues...

confirm that the Power adapter is ok if the A/C indicator comes ON on the LCD on the laptop. If the A/c indicator is off replace the the power pack. Else the board may be bad, replace the board.

the problem should come from DC Power Jack of Lenovo ThinkPad X60 X61, I advise you to order the dc jack with cable for your Lenovo X61, simple plug in and works, see this page: http://www.lapdiy.com/ibm-lenovo-thinkpad-x60-x61-wire-harness-power-jack-dc-in-cable-p-28297.html

Frequent Charging Shortens Battery Life Frequent charging shortens the life span of a Lithium ion battery. Batteries should be charged only after they expend all their power. b> Switching Batteries Switching batteries helps preserve battery life: If a cell phone or computer user puts in a spare battery while separately charging the primary Lithium ion battery, that helps extend the life of both batteries. b> Removing Batteries Most laptops charge the battery when a user plugs in the AC adapter. Users can adjust this setting by changing the power options. Windows places this option in the Control Panel, while the Gnome Linux desktop places power options under "Administrative Tools". Cell phones incorporate their own power-saving features that the user usually cannot control. b> When to Replace a Lithium Ion Battery If a laptop battery does not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, a user must replace the Lithium ion battery if he wants to use the computer without an AC adapter. Other Ways to Extend Battery Life Storing a battery in a cool, dry environment causes a lithium-ion battery to last a little longer and reduces the frequency of needed battery replacements. Hope this helps.
