I cannot find any information about the part that needs cleaning with a vacuum to remove debris that is sucked up. What is it, where is it, and how do I get to it?

Are you talking about the condensor? It is located in the back of the refrigerator at the bottom behind a panel. Remove screws and remove panel and you can clean off the condensor. You can purchase a brush that is made just for this from Lowes,it has a long handle a brush on the other end, brush all the dust and stuff off it then vacuum it up.

Why is my refrigerator cutting off for 15-30 monutes?

Compressor is tripping on thermal overload(it's hot!). It is possibly hot from running with a dirty condensor, make sure the condensor is cleaned. Some refrigerators have a big grid type coil on the back and some are located underneath where the compressor is and cooled by a fan motor. If it has a fan motor, the motor may have failed as well. If condensor needs cleaning I suggest taking it outside and washing with hose.

If the refrigerator has a refrigerant leak, it could cause the compressor to overheat for a few reasons as well.

Compressor lock up is another possibility, could be caused by loss of refrigerant( which would cause a lack of oil/ or lack of oil returning from the system back to the compressor. Compressor would have to be changed and leak located or repaired. It usually is cheaper to just buy a new fridge

Whyaloudclunkwhen refrigerator turns off?

Two things to look into
1) make sure that the condensor is clean - condensor is either a static tube and wire coil on the back of the refrigerator normally black in colour or a fan forced condensor located / accessed from the back of the refrigerator - again make sure it's clean
B) the other cause is the internal mounting of the compressor can make this type of noise - generally there's not a lot can be done other this type of problem (generally the refrigerator will continue to work just noise when it turns off

clean condensor is still the most important

How do I replace the condenser

The condensor will be located very close to the points, both are located under the flywheel. Points and condensor systems were used til the mid 80's, so if the saw is newer than that, it would have electronic ignition, and the condensor is normally part of the coil.

Freezer on bottom is working normally, but refrigerator on top is warm. The condensor fan is working, condensor is clean, compressor runs.

The condenser fan only circulates air around the condenser and compressor. There should be another fan that circulates the air around the refrigerator, it should be located inside of the freezer section at the rear. I would look for this fan and see if it is operating first.

Clean the condensor

You can clean the condenser while it is running or you can unplug unit . most of the time you can use a nylon brush to brush off the condenser. If it has not been cleaned in a while you may need some sort of compressed air to blow through it. If units are in restaurant and by fryers or have greasy buildup on them you will need to unplug unit and spray some degreaser on it then rinse with water. It is important to clean the condenser, the part with fins and is located by compressor, because a dirty condenser will shorten the life of the compressor.

Subzero 561 Fridge side works, Freezer side working fine

Sounds like a cold control. It is located behind the panel and can be ohmed out to check for proper operation. You need to remove the light shield then after the shelves have been taken out remove the two screws that hold the fan shroud in place. This will allow back panel to come for so you can check the cold control. It should read as a short in all positions except off when the cap tubes have come to ambient temp. If you get the back off and see ice on only a small portion of the evaporator you have a sealed system problem and need a qualified technician.

It is the compressor that has failed. The hum is it trying to start and the following click is the overload protector opening. What is the temperature where the refrigerator is located? Allow the compressor to cool down before trying to restart it. If it still does not restart after it has cooled off it is done.
