U cant.......the antenna gets only over the air signals while the cable are actually wire transmitted signals meaning if its cable transmission u want u will have to consult the broadcast provider to hook u up with there particular signal cable to your tv thats what is called cable tv a reason ya antenna cant receive cable signals is compartibility

SOURCE: Digtal Signal Ready?

If you wish to continue to use the antenna, you will need a converter. If you only use cable, no converter is required.

You gotta have a way to get signal to the tv . If you don't want a outside antenna use rabbit ears .After you hook them up hide them behind the tv then do a channel scan. If you don't pick up all the stations set them on top and scan again or get satillite or cable hd boxes.

If it is not a flat screen TV yes all TV signals are now digital so even if you are doing the cable and antenna thing you need a digital converter box to convert the signal from digital to analog. Not sure if they still sell them at Wal-Mart, but I am sure you can find one on-line.

Why i can't connect the antenna to the tv?

The way you ask the question it has too many possible answers.

Here's just a few from the top of my head:

1) You are not connecting it to the antenna input
2) You are not connecting the right type of antenna
3) You are scanning for cable signal instead of antenna signal
4) Your antenna is bad
5) You are in a concrete basement and signal is too weak
6) The TV's tuner box is bad (unlikely yet still possible)
7) You're a in a country that does not have ATSC distribution

I have a Sanyo DP32648 that keeps losing only one channel in the program. When the TV is turned off, that channel disappears from the program. I have to manually reboot the entire list. How can I solve...

It sounds like there is some electrical noise interference that would not be "fixable". If though, we reconfigure the way that they are connected together, we may be able to avoid the noise.

Instead of allowing the antenna signal to "pass through" the 625 we will skip it.

After following the directions, switching between satellite and antenna will be done by selecting on the SANYO "Input 1" for satellite, and selecting "Ant" for antenna. K?

Try this:

From the 625 Tuner 1- using RCA cables (a.k.a. composite cables, or red, white, yellow cable), connect to "Input 1" on the Sanyo TV. To see composite cables go to http://www.wowvision.tv/settingsandconnections.htm

Next, remove the coaxial cable between the Sat box and TV. (Sanyo "Ant. In" port and 625 "Out to TV" port) Set that cable aside.

Now, remove the incoming antenna cable from the 625 "Ant. In" port, and connect it to the Sanyo's "Antenna In" port.

Finally, scan for channels and check for the presence of CBS.

Once verified, test the TV by turning off and on.

Turn on the satellite receiver and switch Sanyo to "Input 1" to verify sat picture.

I believe this solution will satisfy your needs. Please let me know if it doesn't work, and I will need to talk to you about signal strengths, again.

God bless,
Highdefjeff

I have my cable coax connected to the UHF, VHF, CATV input. If I connect cable to Digital Antenna In input and do channel search will I receive local digiatal broadcasts or do I need to split the coax to...

You need to put a compatible cable decoder box between the cable and TV as the sanyo will only decode analogue cable signals via the catv UHF vhf input
the digital antenna in is for digital air broadcasting signals only

Sanyo HDTV 42"

'Clear' can mean different things-
The 'front end' of TV sets can differ greatly in the sensitivity of its tuner.  If you have 'snow,' then the new set is inferior to your previous one and you may need to buy an external broadband amplifier to boost the signal before it goes to the TV. The quality of antenna inputs has declined since there are fewer owners (by percentage) who depend on 'over the air' reception. Cable companies and satellite receivers supply a lot more signal than can your antenna so the input sensitivity is not as critical as it once was.
The demo sets one sees at retailers are fed a lot of signal and have for that reason a better picture than you might find after getting a set home.
