Looking for replacement component for motor controller board, a capacitor that is in series with the AC input line.

Unfortunately Rainbow does not offer this part by itself, they only make the computer as a complete assembly. Rainbow E2 controller 120v You can try contacting local vacuum shops and see if they have any broken Rainbows with good controllers that they would be willing to sell only that part to you.

It stopped working while vacuuming. Still getting power, compressor still working but not sucking.

I'm an owner of an LG LuV200R vacuum cleaner. After years of use it started having an overheating issue where the suction motor stopped after only a few minutes use. The brush motor and compressor motor still worked. After cooling down with power off for at least a few minutes suction motor worked again but quickly shut down. Here's how I fixed mine:

First make sure to clean all 3 filters and let dry for 24 hours if cleaned with water (recommend, but compressed air works good too). A clogged HEPA filter could cause overheating. Check all air passages and hoses for blockages. I've always maintained/cleaned my machine so I had to go a little deeper...

On the control board there is a semiconductor which screws to a right angle aluminum heatsink. See attached picture. My screw was slightly loose; loose enough for there to be a tiny gap between the metals so little heat was dissipated from the semiconductor. My infrared thermometer showed 260°F while running. I tightened the screw and running temp went down to 160°F. Once reassembled the vacuum has yet to overheat and shut down. It's a great vacuum so I'm glad it's working again.

To access the control board you need to remove the front facing plastic motor housing located below where the cord is stored. ALWAYS unplug unit before opening. 2 screws face the rear of unit, (now tilt top of vacuum down all the way) 2 screws face the front at the bottom, and 2 more right above HEPA filter (remove HEPA filter). There is a nut behind culprit screw so you may need to remove the control board attached with 2 screws. I recommend using compressed air to clean off control board if dusty, and check for cut/burnt wires. I had a darkened wire which I guided away from control board at reassembly.

A dab of locktite wouldn't be a bad idea on the loose screw/nut. Hope this helps others.

I have a Kenmore Elite Ultrawave Microwave Hood Combination and am getting an F9 fault code. I hear a rythmic intermittant buzzing, the unit shuts off and the F9 appears on the screen. I have pulled open...

F9 code can mean something different depending upon the particular model.....
1.) IF your Microwave uses "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology"...Then either the Magnetron has failed or the Inverter board has failed OR maybe the control board has failed (HUH?).
2.) IF your Microwave does NOT use "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology" then one or more of the door switches has failed.

** "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology" **
I'll explain a few things about this wonderful technology...
The control board (accepts the pushbutton commands) has to talk to the inverter board to tell it how much power should be applied to the magnetron. The inverter board will then power the magnetron and inform the control board if the magnetron is working OK.
If there is something wrong with the magnetron or inverter board or a there is a communication breakdown between the control board and the inverter board...WA-LA-----F9----

A pretty reliable test for the Magnetron is to operate the oven and listen for a ticking sound 5-6 times about a second apart. If you can hear the ticking....The magnetron has failed..if no ticking, the control or inverter board failed.

When I vacuum the carpet it won't engage into the brush mode, or it does intermittenly. It stays in the brushless mode for the most part

This appears to be a loose connection. The below post was answered by highntools a while ago. It probably is related to you problem.
I have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball area.

There have been several people who reported loose or burnt wires to be the culprit for the brush bar not working. The DC15 does not use a belt, but a motor that is control by the circuit board. And I really believe that in your instance, the problem is a loose wire between the circuit board and the brush motor.

Beater brushes don't work, what to do? They only work when the canister is in about an 85 degree up position.

Electrolux C104A does not turn on. won't start. No light on, no sound. Is there any fuse to be raplace and/or ?

The Renny is a hard machine to diagnose. You could have a broken wire in the cord or in the hose. There is a fuse wire located inside the canister that could be bad. Also, the handle circuit board2.gif could be bad or the triac (another circuit board) located inside the canister could be bad. There is no use for you to open the machine. You could do more damage than good.
