What is a normal pulse rate?

A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute. Generally, a lower heart rate at rest implies more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness. For example, a well-trained athlete might have a normal resting heart rate closer to 40 beats a minute.

53 to 54 is low, going below 50 is an alarm condition for a EKG monitor - been there, done that!

What does the heart on the monitor means?

The blinking heart symbol indicates that the unit is slowly decreasing the pressure in the wrist cuff. This is when the unit is finding your Diastolic blood pressure. This is a normal symbol on most automatic blood pressure monitors. When a nurse or doctor uses a manual blood pressure cuff and listens to the blood flow, they will record the systolic pressure when they first hear the heart beat. Then they record the diastolic measurement when they can no longer hear the heart beat.

The manual for the KS-7902 is available here: http://pharmasupply.com/wordpress/pdf/wristman .

I hope this helps.

When does your heart work the hardest

Work is often defined as how much volume or weight is carried, for how far in a given period of time. Examples: Move 1000 Lbs 10 feet in 10 minutes, Now move it 20 feet in 10 min - you've done twice the work. Or, 2000 lbs 10 feet in 10 minutes = twice the work. 1000 lbs, 10 feet in 5 minutes = twice the work.

So, a good measure for a heart would be how much blood is pumped in a period of time. The amount of blood in each beat doesn't really change, this distance is always the same, so how often it happens is a pretty good indicator. Simplified, you could say that the heart does the most work when it beats the fastest. Run for 130 beats per minute is 4 times the work of say, sleeping at 30 beats in a minute. Anything that raises yur heart rate to the highest would be the most work.

THE HEART BEAT MONITOR STAYS ON

follow this instruction and fix it. God bless you
If the chest pulse monitor does not display a reading, make sure you have it positioned properly. It should be against your skin, under your clothing, with the sensor right side up and the logo facing forward. If you still do not get a response, move it slightly higher or slightly lower on your chest. Position yourself properly too. When walking on the treadmill, stay in the middle of the walking belt. The heart monitor works on normal heart rhythms; it will not detect your heart rate if you have an abnormal rhythm

My polar heart rate monitor counts the heart beets for quite a while before it gives me the heart rate as a number it may be up to one hour before it gives me a mumber.

I would go to Polar for a definitive answer but your monitor may not be making a good contact with your body. Therefore the reception of your heart beat is constantly starting over and can't give a reading fast enough. Try adjusting how you wear the monitor and see if it makes a difference. There is a battery in the chest strap also. The new ones have to go to Polar to get replaced unfortunately. That is another possibility.

It shows your heart is till beating and the LCD readout should tell you, your heart rate. Some monitors will also indicate if the heart beat is regular or irregular.

Polar F6

Hello,

It sounds like most of you have the heart rate set to display in % of max heart rate. Most Polar products have the option of heart rate in BPM(beats per minute) or percentage of max.

If you look at the display during the exercise, you will see a % icon. You can turn it off in by hitting the back button and go down to HR view settings.

Hope this helps.
