Seagate external hard drive usb and power adaptor

I have an seagate external hard drive 1tb P/N 92F2A4-500. I have lost my usb and power adaptor leads and I also need a handbook (never got one when I bought the hard drive). Can anyone steer me in the right direction to find the part numbers and where I can purchase the leads. Thanks in advance. Regards, Bill

Any power adaptor would do it as long as the voltage is good (usually 12v) and amperes is the same or higher than what's written in your hard drive enclosure (usually 1Ampere = 1000mA) is good enough, some HDDs use up to 2000mA
Usb cable is very easy to find
you can find those at any electronic parts selling or ebay

SOURCE: My external hard drive is unreadable

Does you drive make any sounds like these? If yes you have a mechanical problem and you should get a specialist to work on it. If not - try to remove the drive from USB casing and connect it directly to your PC or put into another USB enclosure. This should help if the problem is with the enclosure itself and not with the drive.

SOURCE: Hard Drive Buzzing and Wont work (Seagate External Freeagent 1TB)

You are in trouble!
The buzzing sound is the heads trying to realign themselves at the beginning of the platter.
You could try putting it on a side and hope gravity helps.
But i'm afraid its broke beyond repair.

Hi,
if windows then go to
Start->, select My Computer, and rightclick, and choose Manage.
now on the left there is disk manager - click it. if the disk is on the list it is working and might just need to be formatet or activated.
