Push the lock pin in with a piece of wire or a drill bit and turn the barrel and key and it should come out.

It would be easier to pop your head under there and pull out the bulb and see what color the wire is that leads to the bulb.

Why wont 1976 dodge ramcharger spark after installing a new wiring harness?

difficult to answer but for a start I would be working through the installation of the new harness to see if you have missed a connection some where. especially in the ignition circuit to the coil or fusible link at the battery

HOW DO I REMOVE THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY 1976 DODGE PICKUP?

You will have to remove all the cowlings from the steering column to access the ignition lock and switch. With the correct key inserted and selected to, probably, the ACC position, you should be able to push on either a pin or a tongue that protrudes from the switch into the housing and the pull the whole lock/switch mechanism out.

I am trying to remove the ignition switch from a 1976 Chevy PU

This plate is the steering lock plate. It has a lock ring on the shaft but is under very heavy spring pressure which must be compressed in order to remove and re-install. There is a special tool that compresses this spring. It mounts on the steering shaft threads and pushes on the plate. It is quite difficult without but can be done with two persons as one presses and the other removes the lock ring...good luck
