My hp officejet pro L7580 is connected to DOT4 port, there's a hp officejet pro L7580fax connected to USB002. I want officejet pro L7580 connected to USB002, NOT the L7580fax. My desktop is not...

To walk you through I'd need to know the OS you are running, but the generic answer is that you need to go into the print driver, and in the Printer Properties, under the ports tab , select the USB002 port rather than the DOT4 port and Apply the changes.

Scanner function will not work.error message--"no scan options". have reinstalled software plus downloaded software from hp website.

Cobbled together a MS scan option that works with the L7580. Not very seamless but I'm scanning, viewing, saving and emailing OK.
Still wish I could get the darn L7580 to work via the "scan" button!

Same problem, cuts off bottom of page, usually just half the footer or the very last tip of whatever is printing. Have a j4680, running Vista Home Premium 32, network printer. Shocking that there's no...

there's no issue which can't be resolved

try installing the basic printer drivers for hp deskjet 990c ,its pretty simple
goto control panel and then goto printers
add printer and select the manufacturer as hp and the model as deskjet 990c
now try to print using this driver
if this doesnt help
you might need to goto the printer icon and after a rt click on the icon you need to goto printing preferences, check the print settings
there should be a check box which says show preview before printing, you can check that so that before getting the print you can see the margins and adjust them in the prining preferences
if this doesnt help
try printing in the safe mode(just to check if it works in that mode)

Hp CUE Status Root has stopped working ERROR

i had this prob. the "hp cue root " error isnt a hp thing, its a microsoft thing. i beleive it was caused by installing a older model printer AFTER installing a newer model. (i had a hp 2500 series, then installed drivers for a hp 1400 series)
just go to control panel, then "programs and features" , then uninstall everything that is assoiated with the printer your no longer using. just deleating the older printer from the "printers" folder won't do it. (this is assuming that you dont need both printers)
I havent gotten the error message since i did this. besides, its a good rule of thumb to not have drivers that you dont need on your machine anyways.
hope it helps

HP OJP L7580 and VISTA no SCANNER available

You may want to try the full install before spending more time troubleshooting. It's a 300mb download (!), but it might be worth a try.

You don't say what software you're trying to use to scan, either; you may wish to try another one. If you want to experiment, you can download a free photo editing package that won't take over all your preferences for files -- check out portableapps.com and look for GIMP.

I've got an older HP printer, a PSC 1610, and it took me something like *seven* times installing it on Vista before it worked right. It turns out there's the regular uninstall, and then there's a super uninstall, and then there's a super duper uninstall, etc -- something like seven different uninstallation procedures, which is just insane.

HP's drivers and cruddy software convinced me to never by another one. It's a shame -- the company made some laser printers 15 years ago that are still working perfectly.

Scanner won't operate on HP PSC1410 All in one with Leopard

Hi, as per HP's support page on this product here

It seems that there aren't any drivers compatible with Leopard for this printer at the moment. The latest OS supported is Mac OS X Tiger... You will have to wait untill HP do something for leopard...
