The 13HPX is a Heat Pump. It has a control board in the outside unit that will lock out after a few trips from one of the controls, such as a low or high pressure switch tripping. Turning the power off is making this board reset. Take the door off next time. to the outside unit and look at the lights on the control board. There should a sticker on the inside the door that you have to remove that describes why the unit is hard locking out according to the light configuration.

Carrier ac keeps turning on and off

what is the temp. outside ? If it is doing it when its hot out clean the coil outside could be tripping on high head pressure. If its not make sure the inside fan blower is turning. If its not it could be tripping on low head pressure. If it only runs a short time you probably have a low charge.and it is causing it to short cycle.

Compressor of ac works, but it doesn't cut off and ice starts forming on evaperator

If you have the switch on the "off" position and the compressor continues to run, you have a bad switch. Carrier is a little difficult to get into the electrical box, if you are mechanical, you could do it yourself. If not, it would be best to take it to a repair shop or call a technician. Give him the model number and serial number of the unit so he can get the switch before he comes out. That way, you can't get charged for two trips.

Check with your contractor to see if their repair is warrantied. If it is not call someone who carries a warranty and satisfaction guarantee on repairs. It is likely that you got a bad capacitor, however, this typically will not trip a breaker. It's possible that other issue(s) caused the capacitor failure.

Tripping of AC after running good for hours.

CARRIER REQIRES AT LEAST 10 VOLTS OF DC POWER TO RUN THEMOSTAT FUNCTONS YOU ARE HAVEING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CONVERTER OR INVERTER IF YOU HAVE A MOTOR HOME NOT PRODUCING ENOUGH DC VOLTS TO POWER THEMOSTAT FUNCTION I NOTICED YOU SAID YOU HAVE TWO ACS ON THE COATCH IF YOU HAVE A 3 PIN SOCKET YOU ONLY HAVE 30 AMP SERVICE KEEPING IN MIND YOUR AC REGUIRES 16 AMPS TO START AND 11 TO RUNS SO THAT WOULD BE
AC X 2 22 AMPS RUNING
WATER HEATER AC POWER 7 TO 8AMPS
REFER 10 AMPS ON ELETRIC MAX
CONVERTER DEPENDS ON BATEERY USE BUT I WOULD SAY 6 AMPS NORMAL USE WITH A GOOD DEEP CYCLE INSTALLED ON COATCH
I SEE OVER 40 AMPS WITH OUT ANY TVS OR MICO OR THE ALL IMPORTANT WIFES HAIR DRIER

Carrier home ac system

sounds like your contactor is stuck closed. This is the part that high voltage connects to and lets power through to the compressor and condenser fan motor when you get a call for cooling. If you go to pull it out, kill the power outside AND at the furnace.
