SOURCE: Can you tell me if a receiver Sony 7.1 works with

Since you don't name the receiver we have no idea of its audio power or compatibility with 'standard' 8-ohm speakers.

Any normal standardized NOT-all-in-one-hi-fi-in-a-box amplifier will work with these speakers.

How do i hook up bose accustimass speaker to my radio?

Acoustimass speakers need to be driven by a Hi-Fi amp/receiver or AV receiver. So the thing that's driving them needs to be an amplifier.

Unless your radio is also an amplifier then the radio and the Bose speakers are not directly compatible. There's no suitable output on the radio that generates the correct signal in sufficient power.

Output wattage of sony speaker system model ss-cfx250

Passive speakers don't have an output wattage rating, that would be applied to the amplifier :-) The INPUT wattage rating of these speakers is 5 watts RMS per speaker.

Whats a control jack on a sony SS-WG450 plug into if i'm hooking it to a JVC reciever?

That subwoofer is included in the MHC-GX450 system. I have the amp/CD/radio unit. but not the subwoofer. The control cable connects the LED on the Sub to the main unit. When the main unit detects this connection to the LED it switches on its internal subwoofer amp to drive the subwoofer.

Does the JVC receiver use a "control" circuit through its external subwoofer unit to signal that it is connected to the subwoofer? If not, you do not need to use the control jack on the
SS-WG450 to connect to the JVC receiver. Connecting the Sony subwoofer to a subwoofer output on the JVC unit may be enough. Do check the impedance required by your JVC receiver. Sony lists the SS-WG450 as having a Nominal impedance of 6 Ohms. Is this high enough for the JVC unit?

Will i be able to swap the original speakers of the J520 with a pair of Sony SS-B1000, without causing damage to the new speakers? the Sony SS-B1000 has an Impedance of 8 ohms, and peak power of 120 watts.

Hi, As long as you like the way the speakers sound there is really no reason you cant use whatever speakers you want. To find out the approximate wattage of the stereo you are using look on the rear of the unit and you will find a tag that has " SPECIFICATIONS " on it. There you will see perhaps the a.m. and f.m. frequencies it's capable of receiving also there should be numbers saying something like" 100-240vac or 100-240v~ 50-60hz 1.2amp or 120watts.( if power is listed in amps only-1 amp's equivalent to about a hundred watts)Dividing the wattage by 3 will give you an approximate power out put. Example if your stereo draws 120 watts worth of 110 from the wall it will put out approximately 40 watts to each speaker. Changing from OEM speakers is all right as long as you don't try to hook up some 150 watt peak speaker to a stereo capable of just, say, 10 watts per channel. Doing this will eventually cause damage to the amplifier, not to mention causing about 30 percent total harmonic distortion-which take my word for you will know if you ever hear it! So long story short-use what you wish, just be careful not to overload the receiver-if the speakers are a bit to powerful for receiver you can lessen distortion by turning down the " BASS" as that takes the most power in a speaker. Thanks for choosing FixYa, I hope this helped-good luck, Prodzilla

We recently bought new speakers and the wires have

Most speakers that are not part of a proprietary system of original design will accept a spade and/or a banana plug, likewise with amplifiers and receivers.

You can also bind your strand wires or solid core wire types around the posts and tighten them down.

Cant get sony sub woofer model no. ss-wg60 working on my sony receiver model no. str-de445

First, go into the "setup" mode of the receiver and go to speaker select, then toggle to sub, highlight and make sure it's "on" Then toggle to speaker volume and check the sub level. Maximum setting is "0". Make sure you are connected to the subwoofer output on the receiver as well. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help you some more.Hope this helps
