SOURCE: wrong disc

With the power off... I opened the dvd player lid and slowly pushed the laser head away from the center until it was under the outside edge with only the edge of it visible to you. Then with a finger nail pull it back out about half way to the middle of the opening. Put the DVD back in the player and turn it back on. not sure if I just got lucky or not, but it fired up then!

http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/97/LPT0719-001A.pdf Even though this manual says JVC, when I found this bush head manual, this is what comes up, so I think the information will apply to your recorder.

My bush DVD player keeps coming up bad disc why is this?

Hi Grace,
Coming up bad Disc means your DVD player is not able to read the discs. There may be some dust on the lense ( optical unit ). If you can clean it please do it. If it does not work even after cleaning, the lense is bad and needs replacement.

The DVD player is no longer working. You would need to replace the DVD drive which is not cost effective. Its cheaper to just buy a cheap DVD player.

Not a disc cleaner you need but a lens cleaner. If that does not work then there are electronic or mechanical problems and most likly not worth repairing.
