Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: low virtual memory

Virtual memory means you're running out of memory, so it's using your hard drive storage as memory. This is slow. This is an indication you: Have too little memory and need to run fewer programs or install more memory; and also increase the size of your virtual memory, which will also make your disk space tighter. If you are really pinching the computer that badly, you may want to consider buying a new laptop altogether -- the prices have come down a -lot- just in the 2 1/2 years since you bought that. Anyway, to work around the immediate problem:

Your Gateway came with Windows XP Home Edition. Click Start: Control Panels. See if you can find the Performance control panel, possibly by switching to "Classic view." In there, look for the memory tab. Find the virtual memory section. It may be set to "Let Windows decide." change it to at least 1000mb.

You can get a bigger hard drive (after buying an external case to move stuff over) and upgrade your memory to as much as 1.25gb; but you may find those purchases to not be sensible relative to the price of a new laptop. Memory is cheap and relatively easy; the hard drive is more difficult and will set you back at least $100 if you do it yourself.

Everytime i opened my computer a low disk space message appears. i"ve already tried cleaning up my disk drive but the message continues to pop up

> problem with Barcode Scanners
> low disk space

If your computer has a CD-writer or a DVD-writer, use it, and "burn" some disks containing your files (music?), and then delete the files from your disk-drive.

Then, it's time to purchase an additional internal disk-drive, and install it as a "slave" disk-drive in your desktop computer. It will become the 'E:' drive -- move your files from 'C:' to 'E:'.

LOW DISK SPACE

Do a disk defragmentation, open control panel select system administration and select defragmentation of the drives. Once completed. clear all temporary files, cookies on the internet browser.
If there is still insufficient space copy off unwanted large media files to the disc or flash memory.
Always have at least 20-30% space left in the C drive so as not to cramp up space for the program.
Uninstall all unwanted proogram files and use only what is required.
You can release a lot of space this way.

I have a Dell Latitude D810 and it says I am running low on disk space. I only have about 40 gigs of space used on my C drive out of 80 but yet I only have 116mb left. What could be taking up the extra...

Your hard disk could have a hugh amount of temporary files etc. that have not been removed.
Have you ever done any hard disk maintenance such as Disk Cleanup and Defrag?
To remove the temporary unused files and recover disk space, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Low disc space cant upload pictures or anything i delted lots of files but still low disc space .zero space please i need help asap.

Just moving things to the trash or deleted files does not clear them from the disk drive.
Try empty trash or remove deleted files.

Cannot transfer files that are greater than 4GB

The lack of free space iis on your internal HD not the external. Whenever transferring files from one drive to another, you are acturally making a copy of the file to be transferred and sending the copy to the new drive. If your internal HD is nearly full, you can try to Cut and Paste the files to the external, or clear up more space on your internal b/4 tryiing to move the bigger files. Best of luck.

Low disk space and I did clear files.

Low disc space really means nothing, but low disc space.

I understand you have cleared your files, but your going to have to remove more....if you have excessive music, pictures, and videos...try backing them up to a DVD or flash drive, then deleting them off of the computer.

If you cannot seem to clear anymore space the next thing to do would be purchasing an external hard drive. This way you can save files on that drive while not adding anymore to the current drive. You can view some external hard drives here

Many people clear photos and videos. However, they fail to clear audio recordings. Look for a long accidental recording of an audio. A long audio file also can take up all your disk space. So one day it has capacity to take 200 photos. The next day "no disk space". Hope it helps.
