SOURCE: Where to get parts for a late 60's model Magnavox Astro-Sonic Hi-Fi Cabinet?

I might try radio shack for a belt, and if you here a motor run but table doesnt turn, that is probably what you need to replace. many of these can be lifted out of the cabinet enough to get to things

SOURCE: Has anyone ever removed the original turntable in a 1960's Magnavox Astro-Sonic Hi-Fi console, with a modern quality turntable?

if you get a cheap turntable the chances of having good dampening material in the contruction are low, but a good mid-priced turntable should do just fine in there.

No power to magnavox turntable

Depends on the model, but if you have no power, more than likely it's a faulty transformer. Some more details would be needed, like model number.

Need a needle for a magnavox AS305M turntable, can not seem to track one down

Unfortunately, the needle spec is tied to the catridge not the model of the turntable. Are there any numbers on the cartridge itself? Do you have a needle that is broken or is it missing completely? If you can post a picture of the needle, I should be able to match it. Post any numbers you find as well.

Thanks,
Dan

Belt on recordplayer (turntable)

Look at websites that sell Dj equipment.......search for places that sell technics turntables for DJs......and make sure they also have belt driven models like stanton turntables......if they do, then they might have the belt that you need. if they don't then they can probably order it for you or know where you can get the belt from!

if you wind up getting a new turntable, go with a direct drive model....they don;t have that problem as there are no belts!

Magnavox Stylus

We need to know the model number of the CARTRIDGE itself. Doesn't matter what turntable you have. All that matters is what cartridge is mounted on the turntable, so that we can match the correct stylus. The stylus/needle connects to the Cartridge:

As the diagram shows, the stylus mounts to the cartridge, which then mounts to the headshell. This headshell is then connected to the tonearm (tube).

So, if you look at the cartridge you should be able to see the model number. If not, there is no way to match up the stylus, as ther are literally THOUSANDS of styli on the market. I would suggest purchasing a NEW cartridge/stylus combination. The following should fit your model:
